Congrats to our Fan of the Month!

Our Fan of the Month for September 2011 is a real woman of mystery, as you can tell by her photo with Catherine Bach!  “Redneck girl 01”  joined us in March of 2008.  While she’s outgoing and friendly with everyone on HazzardNet, she’s a little shy about sharing her face with the world!

Redneck girl 01 is a long-time participant on our Forums and her recognition as Fan of the Month is overdue.  She clinched the title after supplying us a personal account of Hazzard Homecoming in our Forums.  For those of you who did not get to attend Hazzard Homecoming, Redneck girl 01’s reporting will give you an honest overview of what it was like.

She also included a link to her Facebook (faceless-book?) page which includes some great photos of the event, such as the one below:

This General Lee had a plush “Flash” upon the roof.  The stuffed animal has been autographed by many cast members of The Dukes of Hazzard. Redneck girl 01 has many more photos of John, Cathy, Jimmie, Rick, Sonny, and Ben, and several photos of the Hazzard Homecoming grounds and atmosphere.

By immersing herself in the event and taking the time to provide us with all the details, she’s proven herself to be a dedicated Dukes of Hazzard fan.  We appreciate the time she spent to share her experience with all of us, and we look forward to more of Redneck girl 01’s adventures in the future.  Join us in congratulating her!

Congrats to our Fan of the Month!

Every Dukes of Hazzard fan has a story. CDoherty95  joined us in February 2011, and in his own words, he’s been a Dukes fan “as long as he can remember.” His pride and joy was a customized General Lee bicycle that he built himself last summer. Several months later, the bike was stolen while parked at school.

Seeing your hard work and money disappear would be discouraging to anyone. But CDoherty95 didn’t let the loss keep him down. He bought a used bike, stripped it down, and built another General Lee bike, refurbishing, painting, and building it all over again. This shows his great dedication to “The Dukes of Hazzard” as well as his strong personal character in not giving up.

CDoherty95 is also an active participant in our Forums and he’s made good contributions to our community. We’re pleased to recognize him as the August 2011 Fan of the Month! His perseverance in the face of adversity sets a fine example for Dukes fans everywhere. Visit our Forums to congratulate him yourself!

Fan O’ the Month!

July is here and it sure is hot. Speaking of hot, nobody heats up a computer’s keyboard like Lizzy Jackson-Davenport and that’s one of many reasons she’s been selected as HazzardNet’s fan of the month for July 2010.

Lizzy’s computer must be smoking hot from overwork considering it’s sent out over 13,500 posts. But, being fan of the month is more than just about how much you can type…..it’s about the type of fan you are….and Lizzy is an exceptional one.

Lizzy doesn’t focus on simply one place to contribute to the greatest website on the internet. Her posts can be found just about everywhere. Some of her favorites include Honest Wildman Jack’s Slightly Used Cars, God is Great Beer is Good People Are Crazy, Dupe or Duke, the Trivia Thread and the Official Photo Caption Thread.

Like many of us, she considers folks here on the HazzardNet to be her second family. Family is a pretty big deal to Lizzy. Her’s is her number one priority. The family ties that are so strong on the Dukes of Hazzard is one of the reasons she loves the show so much. Combine those ties with the fact that the Dukes has something for everybody and Lizzy will tell you, she’s hooked for life.

Lizzy’s favorite character is Bo but Cooter is so close behind it’s almost a tie (Hmmm, sounds like a back road Hazzard County race). Her favorite episodes are The Rustlers and Cooter’s Girl.

Her favorite country singers are Reba, Garth, Josh Turner and George Strate. She’s also an Elvis fan. Her favorite movies are the 3 Mighty Ducks movies and Top Gun, where they feel the need for speed just like they do in Hazzard County.

She loves the Atlanta Braves, high school football and all animals, especially her 8 year old beagle named Shiloh. (Everybody say awwww, “Awwwwww”) Her favorite books are The Outsider and the Harry Potter series.

Lizzy also loves to read and write fanfics. Her character Lizzy Jackson-Davenport has been pretty busy around here for nearly 2 and a half years and, if we’re lucky, she’s just getting started. Hopefully she won’t burn her computer up ’cause this place wouldn’t be the same without her.

Thanks for all your contributions Lizzy and happy birthday later this month on July 24.

HazzardNet Fan of the Month

We’re long overdue for nominating a Dukes of Hazzard Fan of the Month. Recently, we were introduced to a 43-year old gentleman from Florida who definitely qualifies for the title.

Harry, who’s in the center of the picture below with the Oak Ridge Boys, has been a Dukes of Hazzard fan “since day one” in his own words. ( That’s since day “01” in Dukes speak.)

Harry is a devoted husband, an avid fisherman, and a lifelong Dukes fan. His favorite episode of the Dukes is “One Armed Bandits”.

When we asked Harry what sort of career he’d choose in Hazzard County, he was quick to answer that he’d be a Hazzard County Deputy. This is especially fitting as ol’ Rosco himself, Jimmie Best, has already given him a badge and made him an honorary Hazzard County Deputy Sheriff. Ya see, Harry has been demonstrating his courage in the face of adversity since 2003.

Harry has cancer. He’s been through the mill with treatments, hospitalizations, and pain. Things are at the point where the doctors say there’s nothing more they can do.

Which means we’re gonna ask God to take over, and help Harry fight his battle with cancer.

We’re also going to do our part to cheer Harry on, by putting up a Forums topic where you can leave your well-wishes, encouragements, thoughts and prayers for him.  Please join us here at HazzardNet as we rally behind this fellow Dukes fan.

Our thanks to Mr. Best for introducing us to Harry, our Fan of the Month.  Click here to read and post messages of encouragement to Harry.
