Fan O’ the Month!

It’s August already! This summer’s flying faster than the General Lee rushing down Mill Post Road trying to get the mortgage money to Boss so the boys can save the Duke farm.

Sure enough, Boss ran some scam again to make the payment late but that doesn’t mean all Hoggs are bad. In fact, August’s fan of the month is one of the nicest folks on the HazzardNet and that’s why Jami Lee Hogg has been selected for this month’s honor.

Jami’s only been in our website family for a year and a half but that’s more than enough time to make a big impact and make a lot of friends too. She’s a loyal HazzardNet family member who logs in every day and contributes to several threads.

Jami selected her screen name because she loves the character Jamie Lee Hogg from the episode “Mrs. Daisy Hogg.” Luckily for her, Jamie can be a name for a girl or a boy so she simply dropped the “e” to make it more clear.

Jami’s family thinks she’s obsessed with the Dukes of Hazzard. We can relate. Jami loves the show for many of the same reasons a lot of us do. She loves the values taught by Uncle Jesse and the comedy of Boss and Rosco. And she loves the fact that the show makes you forget your troubles….just like the HazzardNet does.

Jami’s favorite character is Luke. Her favorite episodes are “Goodbye General Lee”, “Dear Diary” and (you guessed it) any episode that features Luke. She has met John Schneider and Tom Wopat and considers the picture she has of her and Tom together, one of her most valuable possessions.

She owns all 7 seasons of the show and has a wide variety of Dukes toys, memorabilia and autographs from the cast members.

She has three dogs. One is named Sorrell for Boss Hogg. She has three ferrets. One is named Daisy. She also has a pet fish. I wonder if it’s one that Luke caught in the Hazzard Pond and released in Jami’s fish tank.

Her favorite country singers are Garth, Reba, Rascal Flatts and Confederate Railroad. She loves taking pictures and specializes in black and white photography. She’s loves NASCAR and is a big Dale Jr. fan and has been a fan of his for his entire career.

Jami is a small town girl who’s top three priorities in life are family, God and friends. She sure has a lot of friends with her HazzardNet family and we appreciate all her contributions to the best website on the internet.

Fan O’ the Month!

July is here and it sure is hot. Speaking of hot, nobody heats up a computer’s keyboard like Lizzy Jackson-Davenport and that’s one of many reasons she’s been selected as HazzardNet’s fan of the month for July 2010.

Lizzy’s computer must be smoking hot from overwork considering it’s sent out over 13,500 posts. But, being fan of the month is more than just about how much you can type…..it’s about the type of fan you are….and Lizzy is an exceptional one.

Lizzy doesn’t focus on simply one place to contribute to the greatest website on the internet. Her posts can be found just about everywhere. Some of her favorites include Honest Wildman Jack’s Slightly Used Cars, God is Great Beer is Good People Are Crazy, Dupe or Duke, the Trivia Thread and the Official Photo Caption Thread.

Like many of us, she considers folks here on the HazzardNet to be her second family. Family is a pretty big deal to Lizzy. Her’s is her number one priority. The family ties that are so strong on the Dukes of Hazzard is one of the reasons she loves the show so much. Combine those ties with the fact that the Dukes has something for everybody and Lizzy will tell you, she’s hooked for life.

Lizzy’s favorite character is Bo but Cooter is so close behind it’s almost a tie (Hmmm, sounds like a back road Hazzard County race). Her favorite episodes are The Rustlers and Cooter’s Girl.

Her favorite country singers are Reba, Garth, Josh Turner and George Strate. She’s also an Elvis fan. Her favorite movies are the 3 Mighty Ducks movies and Top Gun, where they feel the need for speed just like they do in Hazzard County.

She loves the Atlanta Braves, high school football and all animals, especially her 8 year old beagle named Shiloh. (Everybody say awwww, “Awwwwww”) Her favorite books are The Outsider and the Harry Potter series.

Lizzy also loves to read and write fanfics. Her character Lizzy Jackson-Davenport has been pretty busy around here for nearly 2 and a half years and, if we’re lucky, she’s just getting started. Hopefully she won’t burn her computer up ’cause this place wouldn’t be the same without her.

Thanks for all your contributions Lizzy and happy birthday later this month on July 24.

Fan O’ the Month!

June is here and that means things are heating up.

Last summer things really warmed up around here when texasdaisy09 joined us on the HazzardNet and now she’s as hot as a Hazzard campfire as this summer’s first Fan of the Month.

We see folks come and go here on the greatest website on the internet but texasdaisy09 is most definitely here for the long haul. She’s been around less than a year but has already established herself as one of the rocks that make up the foundation of the HazzardNet.

She logs in faithfully every day and can be found on a variety of threads blessing us with nearly 500 posts in less than a year. She loves everything about the HazzardNet, especially the friends she has made here. Many things about our website reflect Hazzard County but if you could only use one word to describe it, many folks would use the word “friendly”. If you looked up the word friendly in a Hazzard County dictionary, there’s a good chance you would see texasdaisy’s picture beside the definition. Speaking of friendly, our friendliness here is one of the reasons she got hooked on the HazzardNet in the first place.

Texasdaisy has been a fan of the show since the summer of 1996. Her two favorite episodes are “Daisy’s Song” and “Ghost of the General Lee.” Her favorite character is Daisy, followed by Bo, Luke, Jesse and the rest of the cast. She loves the show for many of the same reasons we all do, tops amongst those reasons is it’s strong family values in a world of television where that is quickly fading.

Her top three priorities in life are God, her family and then her HazzardNet family. With priorities like that in life, she certainly has her house in order. In fact she loves those things so much she says that she “couldn’t make it through life without all three.”

Her hobbies include reading her Bible, watching Dukes, the HazzardNet, historical Christian romances, her garden, NASCAR, horses, country music, the television shows CSI:NY and Reba.

She has two dogs named Daisy and Jesse and is going to be getting a third. You guessed it…she’s going to name it Bo or Luke.

Her three kids have become fans of the show. Hopefully they’ll become HazzardNet members someday. Could there be three more Fans of the Month in her families future? Let’s hope so. Those lucky kids are being brought up right. Texasdaisy09 is what the Hazzard County is all about. There’s nothing more important than passing on those values to younger generations. This world sure needs folks like texasdaisy09. We’re thankful she’s blessed us by being a faithful daily contributor here. She represents what the Dukes of Hazzard and the HazzardNet is all about. Congratulations!!

Fan O’ the Month!

March 1st is Catherine Bach’s birthday. That’s a big deal around the HazzardNet. While it might be Daisy Duke’s day, it’s pendragon1980’s month because she has been selected as HazzardNet’s “Fan of the Month”.

Pendragon has been a fan of the Dukes of Hazzard since childhood and her love of the best show on television comes through with her writings here at the best website on the internet.

A veteran of many years of fanfic writing on this (and less important) sites, pendragon’s character Doc Walker (AKA Dr. Chance Walker) is legendary on the HazzardNet. Pendragon loves the challenge of trying to fit the good doctor into stories where such talented writers are creatively bringing fiction to life. And she’s very good at it. Don’t take our word for it. Check some of her work out for yourself if you haven’t already.

Pendragon has been a member of the HazzardNet since 2003. She has made dozens of friends here and considers those friendships the most valuable blessing of her HazzardNet experience.

Her favorite character is Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane….”Khee khee…I Love it, I love it” and she delights in watching Rosco and Boss interact….don’t we all!

Her favorite episode is “Jude Emery” and she wishes he would have been on more than just one ep. Hmmm, poor old Enos would have had some serious competition for Daisy if Jude would have hung around Hazzard much longer.

She has been to two Dukesfests and met several of the stars including James Best, John Schneider and Rick Hurst.

Being from Pittsburgh, she is of course a Steelers football fan. She is also an avid reader of anything and everything, especially the HazzardNet. She loves the Dukes because it’s good old-fashioned, clever, funny, family entertainment.

Finally, her two biggest priorities are family and helping others. Us folks here on the HazzardNet are honored to be part of her second family.

Thanks for all your contributions pendragon1980! Congratulations!

Fan O’ the Month!

It’s not possible to be a bigger fan of the Dukes of Hazzard than BoJamesDuke and that’s why she is being picked as February’s fan of the month.

A few of us could put up a legitimate argument that we are “as big of a Dukes fan” as Bo but none of us could say we’re a bigger fan. Considering how much Bo loves the Dukes, it’s simply not possible.

Bo just turned 21 on January 28th and resides across the Hazzard Pond over there in England. She has blessed the HazzardNet with over 6,300 posts since she first logged on nearly four years ago.

Bo has been a Dukes fan for 16 years, since she was 5 years old. When she was 17 she passed an English exam by doing a project based on a mix of Dukes episodes and Role Plays. That alone should show you how much she loves our favorite show.

Of course there’s more. Bo has met nearly every surviving major character from the Dukes and even some who weren’t so major, and she’s met some of them multiple times. That list includes Bo, Luke, Daisy, Rosco, Enos, Cletus, Cooter, Coy and Big Ed Little. Bo’s favorite character is (you guessed it) Bo. That being said, Bo is almost as big of a fan of Luke, but the twinkle in her eye is slightly bigger when Bo is mentioned.

Bo made the trip across the big Hazzard Pond a couple years ago to attend the Dukes Fest with her close friend, and HazzardNet member, DaisyMaeDuke. She supplied the trivia questions for the wildly successful trivia contest that was held there. She also appeared in the front row of the Graham Norton show when he had the Dukes stars on. Since the hour long BBC show was broadcast around world, Bo received four times more than her proverbial “15 minutes of fame.”

Bo’s wisdom and posts can be seen throughout the HazzardNet but fanfics, role plays and round robins are her specialty and she considers the “Going Home Series” amongst her favorites.

Bo’s top priorities in life are family, finishing her education (then finding a job) and the Dukes of Hazzard. She loves the show for the lessons and good advice that have helped guide her through life. She is very thankful to the HazzardNet and those who run it for bringing her close to so many folks who share her passion for the greatest show to ever appear on a TV screen.

We’re thankful to you too Bo. You are a true Dukes fan and a loyal member of the best website the internet has to offer.

Congratulations BoJamesDuke from all of us at HNet!
