Dukes of Hazzard fans in America can now rejoice with their UK counterparts. We’ve gotten word that the Graham Norton Show featuring the Dukes of Hazzard cast (Tom Wopat, John Schneider, and Cathy Bach) will be airing on BBC America. Check your local listings for air times.
The Duke cousins will be on The Graham Norton Show!
Dukes of Hazzard fans in the UK rejoice! Cathy Bach, John Schneider, and Tom Wopat will be appearing on the Graham Norton Show on Wednesday, November 21. If you are in the UK and would like tickets to the show, please contact Newton at newtonv/at/sotv.co.uk.
Dukes Reunion Movies on CMT!
Tuesday, November 13, at 8:00 p.m. eastern, CMT will air the 1997 made-for-TV movie, “The Dukes of Hazzard: Reunion!” This is the story of what became of the cousins Duke after going their separate ways – and what happens when the family is reunited again in Hazzard County.
Best of all, there’s car chases! This is the movie that contained the only appearance of the famed “Double-Zero” Mustang. The “00”, we’re told, is the only car to have ever beaten the General Lee in a Hazzard County road race. Now, there’s a re-match with the farm at stake, and plenty of dirty-dealings by the opposition.
But wait, there’s more! Immediately following “Reunion”, CMT is airing the 2000 made-for-TV movie, “The Dukes of Hazzard: Hazzard in Hollywood.” This is the last outing for the original cast, and bittersweet with the absence of the late Denver Pyle. Still, it’s full of fun Dukes antics, and watching Rosco get his tie stuck in an ATM is a classic moment.
Don’t miss your rare chance to see these seldom-aired shows!
Writers Guild Strikes; Dukes of Hazzard Fans Rejoice
The Writer’s Guild of America gave collective bargaining the collective finger. Antagonized by the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers over piddly things like not getting paid for podcasts, web downloads and the like, the Writer’s Guild has officially broken the pencil. The strike will linger until the Producers come to their senses and resolve the compensation issues.
Yeah, right. What are the odds of that? This is Hollywood we’re talking about.
While the strike rages into it’s second day, some TV programs will be immediately affected, while others will last awhile before the lack of new scripts cuts into production. Fans of current, popular programs are already anticipating a dreary winter of prime-time reruns.
Dukes of Hazzard fans, meanwhile, have reasons to be optimistic. The possibilities are strong that a lingering writer’s strike will cause shows like The Dukes of Hazzard to be rerun again. We wouldn’t be surprised if CMT abruptly brought the Dukes back on the air.
The downside of this, is that we might see the 2005 Dukes of Hazzard movie on network TV sooner than later. Guess we’ll have to take the bad with the good.
When we have confirmation of any re-airing of The Dukes of Hazzard, we’ll let you know. Meanwhile, pay tribute to the Writer’s strike by popping in your Dukes DVD’s at home, and watching a timeless masterpiece like, “Strange Visitor to Hazzard.”
