Fan O’ the Month!

It’s not possible to be a bigger fan of the Dukes of Hazzard than BoJamesDuke and that’s why she is being picked as February’s fan of the month.

A few of us could put up a legitimate argument that we are “as big of a Dukes fan” as Bo but none of us could say we’re a bigger fan. Considering how much Bo loves the Dukes, it’s simply not possible.

Bo just turned 21 on January 28th and resides across the Hazzard Pond over there in England. She has blessed the HazzardNet with over 6,300 posts since she first logged on nearly four years ago.

Bo has been a Dukes fan for 16 years, since she was 5 years old. When she was 17 she passed an English exam by doing a project based on a mix of Dukes episodes and Role Plays. That alone should show you how much she loves our favorite show.

Of course there’s more. Bo has met nearly every surviving major character from the Dukes and even some who weren’t so major, and she’s met some of them multiple times. That list includes Bo, Luke, Daisy, Rosco, Enos, Cletus, Cooter, Coy and Big Ed Little. Bo’s favorite character is (you guessed it) Bo. That being said, Bo is almost as big of a fan of Luke, but the twinkle in her eye is slightly bigger when Bo is mentioned.

Bo made the trip across the big Hazzard Pond a couple years ago to attend the Dukes Fest with her close friend, and HazzardNet member, DaisyMaeDuke. She supplied the trivia questions for the wildly successful trivia contest that was held there. She also appeared in the front row of the Graham Norton show when he had the Dukes stars on. Since the hour long BBC show was broadcast around world, Bo received four times more than her proverbial “15 minutes of fame.”

Bo’s wisdom and posts can be seen throughout the HazzardNet but fanfics, role plays and round robins are her specialty and she considers the “Going Home Series” amongst her favorites.

Bo’s top priorities in life are family, finishing her education (then finding a job) and the Dukes of Hazzard. She loves the show for the lessons and good advice that have helped guide her through life. She is very thankful to the HazzardNet and those who run it for bringing her close to so many folks who share her passion for the greatest show to ever appear on a TV screen.

We’re thankful to you too Bo. You are a true Dukes fan and a loyal member of the best website the internet has to offer.

Congratulations BoJamesDuke from all of us at HNet!

John Schneider’s New Song

Give a listen to this new tune by “Bo Duke” himself, John Schneider.  It’s been awhile since John has been in the recording studio, but it sounds like he hasn’t lost a thing.  We’re glad to share this video of “The Promise”,  as found on YouTube.   If you like it, leave your feedback in the Forums!

2009 HazzardNet Fan of the Year!

Since our Fan of the Month became a pretty rousing success, once we got it going on a more regular basis (you know, like monthly) we figured we’d take a chance on selecting a Fan of the Year for 2009.

Trying to pick a FAN OF THE YEAR is like asking Uncle Jesse to pick his favorite ear of corn out of the 40 acres they plant. Every ear of corn the Dukes grow is a work of art so it’s a nearly impossible task. Never let it be said that the HazzardNet staff shies away from the impossible.

After careful consideration (and a little bit of that spiked egg-nog that was being passed around at the HazzardNet Christmas party) we have selected B.L. Davenport as 2009’s HazzardNet FAN OF THE YEAR!

B.L. has been a great addition to the HazzardNet since she stopped by nearly four years ago.
In 2009 she solidified her position on the HazzardNet as one of our most valued and prominent members. She recently recorded her 3,000th post and was selected as fan of the month for October while keeping herself busy covering a wide variety of forums and threads.

Her contributions in 2009 have benefited everybody involved with HazzardNet and we fell extremely lucky and blessed that she devotes so much of her time to this website.

B.L.’s personality is one that comes straight out of Hazzard County. She has a genuine love of God, family, country and her HazzardNet community. It doesn’t take long to review some of her posts to conclude that she is a wonderful and loving human being who has her priorities in order and cares about everyone in her life, including our family here.

B.L. has been a fan of The Dukes of Hazzard her whole life and for good reason. She lives her life with the same values and ideals shared by the residents of Hazzard County. We have a lot of respect for her and appreciate all she has done to help make this a world class website that is followed by Dukes fans all over the world. Speaking for all of us, folks like B.L. make that world much better.

So congratulations B.L. from all of us at HNet!

Fan O’ the Month!

Another month over, another fan of the month goes into the history book.

Today doesn’t just start a new month. It starts a new year. It also starts a new decade. A new decade means 120 more fan of the month awards.

In honor of a new decade…a fan who was around for most of the old one will be honored as the January Fan of the Month. That fan is Garrett Duke.

Don’t be fooled by the starting date on Garrett’s profile (1-24-04). Garrett has been using a computer long before that to express her love of the greatest show in the history of television. Garrett began ten years ago doing fanfics under the name Kristy Duke and hasn’t stopped fanficing since. She has been involved with dozens of fanfics and role plays in the past decade and is currently working on “A Friend’s Betrayal” as part of her “Hazzard Unleashed” series. She also has just started another titled “Evicted”.

Of course Garrett can be found in many more places than just the fanfic neighborhoods. She is very active on many threads and always has something positive to contribute. The old saying “If you don’t have something nice to say, then don’t say anything” certainly applies to Garrett. Since she started watching Dukes at age 4, it’s no surprise some of their ethics have rubbed off on her.

Besides loving the Dukes of Hazzard, Garrett also has a lot in common with them. She’s a NASCAR fan and is a follower of Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson. (I bet she likes Cale Yarborough too). Her favorite color is orange…. the shade of orange the General Lee is painted of course. She is a big country music fan. Her favorites include Toby Keith, Alan Jackson, Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney and Keith Urban. And the most important thing she has in common with the Dukes is that she considers faith and family to be her top two priorities in life.

Garrett’s favorite character is Bo. Luke and Jesse are tied for second. She hails from the great state of Iowa and is a big fan of the Chicago Cubs. She loves to read and write and one of her favorite things to do is spend time with her dog Lilly.

Garrett loves the HazzardNet because this is absolutely the best place in the world to hang out with people who understand why The Dukes of Hazzard is so awesome. We think Garrett is awesome and thank her for her many contributions to the best website in cyberspace. Keep up the good work Garrett.

Congratulations, Garrett, from all of us at HNet!
