== Plot Summary ==

Coy and Vance let Bo and Luke know that Uncle Elbert is sick and they need to go off and help Aunt Bessie, so Bo and Luke return to Hazzard. Meanwhile, Cooter is working two jobs to try and make a balloon mortgage payment to Boss, and he's starting make mistakes due to the stress. Boss really wants Cooter to sell his garage so that he can knock it down and build a shopping center. Things get worse for Cooter when the engine of a race car he's worked on explodes, and the driver's daughter blames Cooter.

== Commentary ==
The viewing figures had been dropping since the start of the season, so the studio managed to negotiate a deal to make John and Tom return to the show. With Bo and Luke back in Hazzard, Coy and Vance were no longer needed, so they left, never to be heard of again.

== Trivia ==

* This is the only episode where Bo, Luke, Coy and Vance all appear together.
* Boss' model of Cooter's has "Jacey Squires Proprietor" over the door. Jacey Squires was a character in ''The Music Man'', and his livery stables in the 1962 movie were in the building that became Cooter's Garage.
* There are two versions of Petey Willis' car, one stock and one with enlarged rear wheel arches. They could be reworked versions of Cooter's race car from [[Duke vs. Duke]], which had two similar variants.
