Five years ago, an unprovoked and brutal terrorist attack was carried out against the United States. Nearly three thousand innocent people lost their lives, including hundreds of heroic police and firefighters attempting to aid those trapped in burning buildings. Please take a moment to remember that day, those that lost their lives, and the heroes that gave selflessly of themselves to save others. Never forget.

Just an FYI to those out there browsing our forums and thinking of joining. First of all...come on in! The water's nice. =) Please be aware, however, that due to the increase in junk sign ups and automated spam messages reaching the forums, we've had to change things to where a moderator or admin must approve each new member. This may take a day or two depending on volume and time allowance (and which of us gets to it first. LOL). We thank you for your patience in advance and thank you for joining one of the best DOH forums on the net!

Awright! Been awhile since we've had any drabble to post so I thought I'd just post some drabble. LOL.
What's in a (Hazzard) Name?
Once upon a time I went to one of those baby name websites and looked up the various character names of the citizens of Hazzard. It would appear that somebody out there thought putting together a whole list of the various names of Hazzard citizens would be a great idea and the folks at YeahBaby.com have done just that. Check it out!
Television Listing for WHOGG. =)
Several of you have emailed in to say that the Dukes of Hazzard is running on ABC Family Channel. Check you local listings for times!

Our fan of the month... is.. Jacob! Jacob, a diehard 6 year old Dukes fan, likes Boss Hogg so much that he asked for a Boss Hogg outfit for Christmas. And here he is wearing it at the Grand Ol' Opry during DukesFest. Doesn't he look dapper? He loves the show and the comedy between Boss and Rosco, especially when Boss yells at Rosco about his "fat sister Lulu". Boss Hogg is his favorite character, if you hadn't guessed by now, because Boss is so funny. Jacob does a good impression of Boss Hogg and amused the DukesFest crowd with it Saturday night on stage. He thinks Boss is a snappy dresser. Well, Jacob, we think you're a snappy dresser too! Congratulations on being HazzardNet's Fan of the Month.

Folks, tomorrow June 14th is Babies Day. We're asking all you Hazzardites with some spare change to be a hero on Babies Day and make a donation, whatever you can afford, to the March of Dimes. The March of Dimes is an organization leading the fight to save babies from the problems of prematurity, birth defects, and low birthweight. They provide research, community outreach, and education in many communities to help give babies a fighting chance. They rely on donations from folks like you to accomplish their mission. They will get matching funds for the first $250,000 donated tomorrow from corporate sponsors. Their goal is to raise $1 million. So please, donate whatever you can tomorrow. Just click the March of Dimes links or banners above to donate. Thanks!
In technical news...
Well, the move didn't happen last night. The uploads to the new server kept failing. The good news, however, is that I was able to patch the forums. They are available now and will be until the weekend when I attempt the move again.
Thanks for your patience.

Time for Plan C! I had trouble downloading the database and files for the website yesterday, so the move will take longer than anticipated. I was, however, able to finally download the forum patch yesterday. Yay! I will attempt to download the files and database from the site again tonight. If that does not go well, I'll postpone the move until the weekend and just patch the forums. If this patch goes like any other patch I've done, things might be wonky for a bit. So, if the forums aren't acting right, please don't post while I try to fix things. I will still be moving the site in order to address the gallery and other technical issues. Whether that will be tonight or this weekend remains to be seen. Regardless of when the move is, the forums will be down again during the move. Continue to watch this space for news of what's going on. I'll try to keep you all as informed as possible. Thanks for your patience.
Stay tuned!

Folks, HazzardNet is moving servers again. It has come to light that folks can't upload pictures to the gallery. After investigating, it appears that some imaging software we need on the server isn't there. On talking to tech support, they won't load it for me. So, it's back to our previous web host so we can get the gallery running again for uploads of all those great DukesFest photos you took.
Please excuse our mess in the meantime.

The message boards are currently down. We received a notice that a patch was available for the software, but have been unable to download it. To prevent security holes in the site, we are leaving the forums down until they can be patched, which will hopefully be tonight or tomorrow. Your understanding is appreciated.
We also received a notice that other software this site runs on has a security hole that has caused many sites running it to be hacked. I believe the code I added to the software last night has closed the security hole, but I will be transitioning away from the use of that software on this site, as it is no longer supported by the developer. Hopefully, the transition will be seemless and there will be no downtime.
Again, sorry for any inconvenience.

As noted below, two thirds of the HNet staff is currently in Nashville gearing up for DUKESFEST! Meanwhile, us poor unfortuante saps that are left behind must make do. LOL. BUT I'm looking to host a chat Saturday night here at the HNet Chat Room (come on in via the Forums) starting at 8pm! So stop on by and we'll have ourselves some fun despite ourselves. ROFL!
Just a few things I wanted to report on:
Dukes Post a Strong Showing in TeaVee.com Poll!!
The Dukes of Hazzard made the TeaVee.com poll for May at #18!! And for the month of May, TeaVee.com listed not the top ten, but the top twenty-five shows for the month! Awesome job y'all!
Now we're into June! Let's see if we can beat the #18 slot!
Dukes of Hazzard Prequel??!?!
The Internet Movie Database reported recently that there's a Dukes Prequel in the works and that Kristin Cavallari of Laguna Beach fame is slated to play Daisy Duke. Other rumblings have been floating around the internet, many of which have been found and shared in our forums. This prequel apparently is a straight to DVD release. Based on the rumours and tidbits our forums members have found it sounds like it's going to be a straight to the trash bin type film.
Hazzard....Smallville....Broadway....
John Schneider will be starring in 42nd Street at the Pittsburg Civic Light Opera, running from July 4th through the 16th!
Back in April, John was Wellington, New Zealand for the Armageddon Pulp Culture Expo. New Zealand's TVOne did an interview with him. Check out the video here:

One final note, our
Fanfiction section has been updated for June!

This is a little late, but we've been busy getting ready for DukesFest.
Did any of you see the CMT special Top 20 Country Comedies? Well, I was delighted to see that Dukes of Hazzard came in fourth. However, that delight was shortlived, as they neglected to even mention the people who gave the show such great comedy, Sorrell Booke and Jimmie Best. Jimmie and Sorrell's chemistry together and comedic timing brought smiles to the faces of fans every week. Sometimes they were over the top. Sometimes they were more subtle. But some of the best comedic moments in the show were bound to involve them. How CMT could overlook that is beyond me.
If any of you saw the special and noticed the same omission I did, I urge you to write to CMT and voice your displeasure with this oversight. Since the show is over and done with, there's not much they can do now to right this. However, they can always produce more specials that feature the Dukes cast. I, for one, would like to see a special about comedy duos that perhaps could feature Jimmie and Sorrell. If you have your own ideas, please write CMT and let them know. Keep it nice, folks. We Dukes fans have a reputation to uphold :)

We're in the process of integrating upgraded chatrooms into the forums. The chatroom has moved from its regular spot to
here. Once we're done, you'll be able to access the chatrooms right from the forums. You'll even be able to see if fellow Dukes of Hazzard fans are in the chatroom without even entering them. Cool, eh? If you do check out the new chatrooms, please drop us a line and let us know what you think!
For those of you voting at TeaVee.com, the chatroom would be a great place to coordinate our efforts. *hint hint* We're making good progress, but we have a long way to go. So get over to teavee.com and vote for the Dukes of Hazzard!

Dukes of Hazzard is in 17th place and holding at the TeaVee vote. Those of you who haven't voted yet, get over there and vote positive for Dukes of Hazzard every 5 minutes! Let's make Dukes #1!
May 11, 2006
The Dukes of Hazzard is now #20 on the TeaVee vote and about to break into the #19 slot. Keep voting, Dukes fans!
May 8, 2006
Quick update. The Dukes of Hazzard is now #31 in the TeaVee vote. Keep voting positive for The Dukes of Hazzard, folks!
May 5, 2006
Vote for the Dukes!!!
Yes, folks somebody found another one of them votin' sites again and we're on the rally! The Dukes is currently ranked #39 (at the time I'm writing this. Last I looked we were 80something votes away from 38).
Here's how it works. You can vote once every five minutes but pay attention to the vote buttons!!! There's two, one for positive, one for negative. To prevent automated scripts from hitting the same button, after you vote the buttons switch places. So remember to click on the positive vote only!!!
The Dukes sustained a good rally in the last three days of April to go from a ranking of 123 to 56. Now, the challenge is to land the Dukes into the top ten and leave TV execs scratching their heads wondering how a 25 year old show is beating up....er beating out on the new stuff. KHEEHAAAAA!!!
SO! Git yer posterior over to
www.teavee.com and look for "Dukes of Hazzard" (There is a "The Dukes of Hazzard" but it's way down at #223. Why quibble over one word? ROFL) AND VOTE!!! We have until June 1st to land the Dukes into the top ten or better yet the coveted number one slot! Wouldn't that just stir up the tv industry?

John in Australia and our Fan of the Month!
As you all know, last week John Schneider appeared at the Brisbane (Australia) Comic Book Convention. In attendence were Aussie Duke fans Bernadette and Paul, showing that DOH fever is as strong down under as it is 'round these here parts! So, we're proud to name Bernadette and Paul as HazzardNet's Fans of the Month for April/May! (We're so late on April we might as well call it May! LOL)
Here's their story on meeting John at the convention, along with pics!

On April 22nd 2006, Bernadette and Paul, from Toowoomba in Queensland Australia, made the two hour trip to Brisbane, with their brand new General Lee Buggy, to meet John Schneidder. We arrived at about 9:30 am , met Daniel, the organizer and parked The General. Paul blew the Dixie Horn (yes, it has one!) infront of the waiting crowds and they all cheered, which got Paul going! I'm sure John heard it too, he would've been there by then and EVERYWHERE you went, you could hear it! Most of the day was spent hanging around, we answered some enquiries about The General and took some photos for people.

At about 2:30 pm, John did a seminar, in which he answered the audiences' questions for an entire hour (I will write a separate report!). He mentioned our buggy in that seminar, even though we didn't mention it, so that was pretty cool! He also asked me (Bernadette) at one point, if I was going to do a Luke Duke and fly across THAT bonnet (it's nearly as tall as me!) This, mind you, was infront of the whole room of about 200 people, so shocked as I was, I shook my head with a funny smile! He replied: "I didn't think so!". Not sure whether that was embarassing or funny! Straight after the seminar, we headed for Johns' signing table and organised with Daniel, to meet him. John came downstairs not five minutes later and it was on! He seemed to be standing around waiting for someone to do something so I (Bernadette) made the first move and went up to John and shook his hand and said "Hi, how r u, it's nice 2 meet u". John replied with the same answer and one big smile! After that, it was pretty quick and I can't remember much of what was said, but he signed the buggy and my season one dukes dvd cover where his picture is (you all know the pic I mean!). The last thing he said to us was: "Make sure you get some dirt on that thing guys! And some scratches too!". We said "We will!" and I (Bernadette) said "Thankyou and have a safe trip home". I'm not sure if he heard me as he was being swamped with people, but I hope he did!

For those who have been to our website and read the captions on the pics: John suggested we wipe the dust off the bonnet (don't know how that got there!) cause he had his own cast members sign his General over dust before and the dust rubbed it off over time! Paul didn't have anything on him to wipe it off with, so he used his shirt and that's when they broke into laughter (re: the photos). We want to say a HUGE thankyou to Daniel, the show organizer, whom without none of this would've happened and to John Schneider:
Thankyou and YEE HAA!!!!!!!
We've also updated our
Fanfiction page! (I'm a couple of days early. LOL)

Despite the the good connections that folks make through HNet with their similar interests of the Dukes of Hazzard, we do remind you that, although we try very hard to keep the place safe, there are weird and freaky people out in the world, many of whom have access to computers (other than the weird and freaky threesome who run this joint LOL). Seriously tho'....we're glad to see the new friendships emerge, we just want y'all to stay safe!

Cooter Wows Detroit Autorama!
Dukes of Hazzard fans turned out in droves for the chance to see the General Lee and Cooter up close and personal! Cooter also enjoyed some special attention from the Detroit Auto Parts Girls!
Fans came from several states to visit Cooter at Detroit's Autorama. A score of loyal Dukes of Hazzard fans from Michigan braved long lines for their chance for an autograph, including Greg, Ryan, and Jesse, who just made it before the line closed on the last day of the show. They waited patiently for about two hours, just in time to see the Detroit Auto Parts Girls sneak in for a close-up. Somehow, I don't think they minded the wait!
Greg, Ryan and Jesse - HazzardNet's "Fans of of the Month!"
HazzardNet will have new and exclusive DukesFest information in the very near future! Folks, if these car shows are any indication, the 2006 DukesFest will have the biggest turnout of any fan event, of any fandom - ever! Get your tickets for DukesFest now, you might just become a part of history!

Cars, Cooter, TV Vote Update and
the Demise of Daisy's RoadRunner
Okay y'all the World of Wheels Autorama rolls into Detroit this weekend and Ben Jones will be there along with the General Lee! Remember folks, to check out the Autorama website
http://www.autorama.com/ for all the news and coming attractions and for when the big show comes to a city near you!
Back on February 18th, we posted an update with the TV Vote: Best TV Shows of All Time poll website and their change of voting procedure. At the time we weren't sure if the Dukes of Hazzard made into the top 40. Well....they didn't. So all y'all that continue to go to the website to vote for the Dukes of Hazzard it's not going to register your vote. (Although your insistence is appreciated. LOL).
It's obvious that once Dukes of Hazzard fans hear of any polls regarding our favorite show, you know we'll be there in force with support. =)
And finally, back about a year or so a go a sharp eyed Dukes of Hazzard fan noticed something weird during the final destruction sequence of Daisy's yellow RoadRunner in the episode "The Runaway." Take a look
here to read more about it.

Parts and Service for RC Generals
A few folks have inquired recently about the RC General Lees and replacement parts. Check our post in the Forums on this topic.
RC Generals. Remeber y'all, HazzardNet does not sell these items directly, we merely provide the links to the places that do (ie, Amazon.com) and obviously we want to provide information for where to go for service after the sale. I sound like an ad for a garage. LOL

Dukes of Hazzard Fans Rally to the Cause
In the
TV-Vote: Best TV Shows of All Time! poll, in 7 short days the Dukes of Hazzard went from a paultry 7 votes to well over 190. I'm not sure the final total, but I'm willing to bet we hit 200 votes.
After five years of open nominations, the TV-Vote site has implimented a plan B....and they've suspended voting for the time being to reorganize and place the top 40 shows up for voting. I'm not sure if Dukes of Hazzard made it to the top 40, we'll find out when they resume voting again. Let's hope Dukes made it!
If not, Dukes fans did a great job rallying 'round the ol' rebel flag and casting their votes. At very least we'll know that Dukes wasn't left in the dust with just 17 votes. =)

All of 2005's news items have been archived in the appropriate location. Y'know, looking back on it, '05 was a darn busy year for the Dukes of Hazzard! Let's hope '06 has as many highlights as '05! =)

VOTE FOR THE DUKES OF HAZZARD!!
17 votes?! That's all?! GAAAHHH!!!!!!
A member of our forums discovered this website
TV-Vote: Best TV Shows of All Time! and saw that the Dukes of Hazzard is lagging waaaaaaaayyy down in the listing with a paultry 17 votes. Apparently this site has been around since 2001. 17 votes?! We wanna recount!!!
What we'd like to see is Dukes of Hazzard fans from all over go stuff the ballot box!!! Heck, the site encourages multiple voting, ballot box stuffing (they have it clear as day on their main page) and all the election fraud you can muster. No purple stained fingers here! There's just one catch tho'....you gotta wait 60 minutes before submitting another vote.
So! Git yer posteriors on over to the site, vote for The Dukes of Hazzard and then go back in an hour and vote again. Make sure it's an hour or the second vote won't count.
Let's turn that 17 votes....in 1700!!!

Season 06 in '06! Yeehaw!!
Well folks the ol' HNet Mail bin has been flooded with news about the release of the 6th season of the Dukes of Hazzard, scheduled for May 30th! Bonus materials are unknown, but as soon as we know we'll pass the info on to y'all. (And thanks to y'all who slapped us upside the head. Khee!)
Also wanted to share this link to a recent Tom Wopat interview...
Nothing earth shattering here but a good interview nonetheless. (Thanks JC, for the link!)

Okay, I know this isn't SmallvilleNet.com but I have to comment....
THEY KILLED JOHN!!! WAAAAAHHHHH!!!! =(
I haven't even seen the Tom Wopat episode, and tonight while cruisin' the boards here at HNet I read the devastating spoiler. And John Schneider fans are just a wee bit ticked off. And I don't blame 'em! Tho' it does fit the backstory of all that is Superman but still...
Good thing main characters on the Dukes of Hazzard weren't killed off eh? Cripes.
I had started watching Smallville occasionally because of John (who, let's be honest, looks as damn good now as he ever did! LOL). I wasn't regularly watching the show. And now hearing this....well...what the heck do I watch it for now? LOL

Thank god for Dukes of Hazzard reruns, right?
