Question: Last Names

Are the last names Duke and Hogg real? I've never heard of the names except for in the show.

They exist. Just put the names in a search engine like Google and plenty of Dukes and Hoggs will pop.

Plenty of Hoggs in Canada like the Hon. Gordon Hogg, Minister of State for Mining at the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia.

Companies like Hogg Fuel and Supply Limited and Hogg Motor Sales both in Kitchener, Ontario, The second one actually dresses like Boss Hogg. Don't if the owners are Hoggs though.

As for Duke there are people with the name like singer Patty Duke. Does Duke Ellington count? :P

Check the local phone book you might be surprised if it covers a larger area like where I live the phone book covers the whole county and part of two other counties near me. I've seen some billboards and things up on the highways in travelling for Davenport something (can't remember now what it was advertising but I think it was tires heh kind of ironic that it would have something to do with cars).

About five minutes from my house there is a family named Hogg. About 2 hours and hafe hours away there is a Duke family cemetery. I pass it ever time I go to my grandma's house.

Then there was the infamous David Duke former presidential prospect who was involved in the KKK.

I looked it up in the phone book (Erie County Pennsylvania) and I found 5 Dukes and 3 Hoggs.

Alright guys so I got curious, I pulled out my phone book a few minutes ago and got 5 Dukes and over 20 or 3 Hoggs. There was also a couple Dukes and a couple of Hoggs that fought in the Civil war and there is alot of Dukes and Hoggs in history too, we're getting ready to do a Boss Hogg Ring, as my U.S. History teacher calls it, on political coruptness back during the Industrial Revolution era.
