Just to see if the other two administrative screwballs are paying any attention, I thought I'd sneak a post here. Are there any other moderators in the house?
Mind you, I've been on hiatus for what....six months? Ten? I really don't know. I took a new job last winter, with a long commute, and then by the time summer rolled around, I was determined to get outside as much as possible and have some fun. The last few months have been a hyperactive blur, hence my silence on HNet.
I looked at our homepage. We haven't updated it since before July 4th. I know MaryAnne and Mufn have been checking on things here, and have taken care of Important Stuff Behind The Scenes while I was at some corn dog festival chugging beer and dancing on top of picnic tables. In fact, in checking one of my last posts before falling off the map, I'd promised MaryAnne an article for the homepage.
Oops. Knew I forgot something....
I'll get right on that! Meantime, I'm glad to see so many familiar names still around. It's good to be back.

So, which is it? Are you asking if we're here or if we're paying attention? Cuz those are two different things. LOL. And for me, the answer to both questions is probably "no". Khee!
And I'll have you know, just this afternoon I delegated the task of updating the home page to MaryAnne because I was too lazy... errr, overwhelmingly busy to do it myself. So, if the homepage isn't updated, blame her. Or yourself. Cuz I sure know it's not MY fault. Khee! :escape:
MaryAnne
09-10-2008, 06:46 PM
I'm both here and payin' attention. LOL.
Since updatin' the homepage as been deldgated to me, I hereby delegate the blame for said homepage not being updated to Brian. Afterall, he was supposed to get me some material to post up sometime around the last ice age I think it was.... LOL

That answers that! All present and discounted for! Amazing how we can pop up out of the woodwork like persistent dandelions on an otherwise immaculate lawn.
I'll do a homepage article this Friday. Which means, all HNet friends and neighbors can expect more of the quality media content and responsible journalism that HazzardNet is infamous for.
When it comes to Dukes of Hazzard news, we know that no news is....really no news, so then we attack each other for something to do.
Fortunately I really do have a little news and a few observations, and if that fails, I'll dabble in a little poetry, and --
Just kidding. Poetry is Mufn's department anyway.
Brian

Brian
I'm a poet
And didn't know it!
And my feet are... well, no, they really aren't Longfellows, too.
MaryAnne, I laud you on your delegation of the blame to Brian. It shows initiative and planning! Too bad it won't get you promoted. :D
Btw, someone emailed asking when the newsletter would be out. Since it's been... oh... what? Nine months since we sent one? We might want to put one together.

Anybody who's been around HNet long enough should know the regularity of when the newsletter comes out. Which is basically...um...whenever. LOL
Afterall, we need to have some news to actually have a newsletter. Do we have any news? If not, well, we can make stuff up! Like....
"How Brian Avoided Jail Time. Again."
and...
"Forget About the Particle Smasher, MaryAnne's Learning New Computer Stuff."
and.....
"Why Mufn Won't Promote Anyone on the HNet Staff" (I reckon that to be a short and sweet article - very much to the point. ROFL).
Also...
"HNet Votes Itself The Most Popular Dukes of Hazzard Fansite on the Web - And Wins!"
Hell, that last one could be true. We all know HNet is it's own sentient being. Khee!
By the way, I don't do poetry very well. It requires a higher thinking, which is more than I can stand for a spell. If I was to write up a few lines, and somehow make them ryhme, then I'd have another talent to sell!

Well, if we had any moderators who were worth a dang, we could edit or clarify posts that seemed a tad outta topic.
Most of the time, I'm content to let the inmates run the asylum. They're more qualified anyhow.
Back to MaryAnne's buns. Yes, it's true she works on them quite a bit. She's proud of her buns. She shows them off. They're a conversation starter. When it comes to her buns, perfection is the goal. She works tirelessly for those firm, round, yet light and springy BUNS! Because the donuts come easy, ya know, so the buns take some work.

Well me neither, I'm allergic to Mountains that sound way too big they was bragging when they made Stone Mountain. And I was in Kennessaw National Park back in oh 1988 and me and my brothers still bragging about how my dad outsmarted a Ga cop in his 1984 Caprice Classic going pretty fast and the car went airborne with the family in the car. The car landed okay, and we went on to see the Mountain hey it's easy to impress three kids that love the Dukes.

This sounds like a great idea for a fanfic.....the Dukes and Beverley Hillbillies runnng Washington D.C.
Boss Hogg and Mr. Drysdale would have to fight for Secretary of the Treasury.
