Weekly Communtiy Chat

Hey Y'all!

An Idea hit me the other night when I was chatting with what seemed like half of Hazzard County!

What do y'all think about having a weekly chat? For instance, every Sunday night at 7:00 pm CST. We can all try to agree on a day and time, if anyone thinks this is worth pursuing. If not, I apologize for the waste of space.
Hope to hear any comments or suggestions.

I think that's a splendid idea! Maybe we could set up a time and keep that every week? Not everyone will be able to chat every time, but you will get a great variety of chatters.

So, yes, I love the idea. What day and time do you have in mind? I was at the chat too, and it was Sunday. I'm not sure what time it was.

What do others think?

I like the idea if I can be here, I try to come to the chats and stuff but never can make it...ya'll gotta holler at me and knock me up side the head a couple times to get me to member!

I love that idea General Grant. Count me in. If people can't make it at 8 (EST) I'm sure they'll be loggining in later and I'm sure some of us will still be chatting. That was a blast last night. It was confusing but it was a blast. A weekly town meeting sounds good to me!!!

This Sunday is the Super Bowl so it might slow chatters down. I don't like either team so I'll probably chat and listen to the game at the same time. I think city folks call that multi-tasking!!

Daisy, I'm sure you know a lot more about computers than I do but I didn't think my chat room worked either. When I click on it takes quite awhile for it to get activated. Have you tried giving it more time?

Thanks for the input. If y'all want to decide on a different day and time, that's okay, too. But, if Sundays work for everyone, I guess that I will be hearing from you on Sunday. Does 7pm CST (8 EST) work for everyone?

DaisyMaeDuke: About the chat room. I don't know if it is the correct procedure or not, but after you get into the room, a grey screen should appear where the chat room would be. If you put your mouse on that grey area, it should say "click to activate and use this control" well, click on the grey screen. And, then wait for a little bit (usually takes a minute or two) and that should pop the chat room up. But, I am not a computer whiz. That is just how I do it, and it gets me there.

I apologize Roger, if it was confusing. I was getting confused. By the time I thought of what to say in response to someone else and got it typed, four or five people typed!

Anyway, if everything goes right, I'll catch y'all at the meetin'! I'll bring the frosted mugs if Roger brings the eggnog and buttermilk!

Oh, and Lori... Don't forget about the meeting!

General Grant, the confusion that you're talking about is what made it so fun. It's like being in the same room and listening to several people giving their opinion at once. At first it's frustrating because you can't understand anything. Then it becomes funny because it's so confusing and Hazzard is all about fun. And yes, I'll bring the buttermilk and egg nog. (I'll be drinking all the egg nog but I'll be generousely sharing the buttermilk)

I know, at first I was getting upset because I simply couldn't keep up with the conversation, which only added to the confussion! But, then, I started having fun with that, because , like you say, Hazzard is plain confussing sometimes. So, I think we represent that well-- we can be confussing at times, but we are havin' fun doing so!

Anyway, it sounds like everyone wants it Sunday at 7PM CST (8 pm EST)
If anyone wants anything different, please don't hesitate to suggest a time!
Otherwise, I'll catch y'all at the meetin' Sunday.

Do you have problems with other java based websites? You might need to reinstall that program or upgrade to a newer verison. Browser issue - IE7, Firefox2 etc.

That was really fun chatting last week, so I'm definately looking forward to that again. We will have to slow down for Roger and General, though. :)

Sorry to hear that you won't make it Lori, I hope next week you can, though.

DaisyMae, I don't know if this will help, but I don't use the pop-up chat room because it just doesn't work well. I recommend a separate page for the chat room. When that page pops up, there will be a grey box with a picture of a coffee cup on the top left corner. Take your mouse and hit the grey box, and in a few moments it should work just fine.
I hope it works and you will be able to make it on Sunday.

I apologize North_of_Border1! I didn't even see you! I checked in late at about 7:15 CST (I think) and saw that 1 person was chatting, but when I went to the chat room, no one was there! I could only stay on a couple of minutes anyway, so I didn't stick around. I am so so sorry. I'm just plain embarrassed 'bout that! It sounds like you did a lot better than I do on the chats! Good Job!!! It really is hard to get your comments in on time. I think I must come in 5 to 10 subjects too late.... Sorry everyone!

I am sorry to hear that Emy-Rae Duke. Did you try to chat in the forum web page, or the pop-up? For me the pop-up used to work, but it doesn't anymore. When the chat room pops up, do you click the gray screen? That is what I have to do to get in.

Anyway, maybe next week. I hope that I catch up with y'all next time.

Must have been me you saw. I went in said Hello and then out I was. LOL Took me only a minute to get back in. I actually kicked myself out twice!

There were about six of us at the Boar's Nest.

The pop-up thing doesn't work for me but the chat in forum does. I don't have hi-speed access and it take a moment to load but not long. Perhaps Emy-Rae needs to download a more recent version of Java script or whatever that thing is called.

I will definitely chat again!

North_of_Border1... I figured you were joking, but I thought I'd better make sure. Oh, I know what you mean, I have dial-up, so it takes a little while to load, and I am ALWAYS getting kicked off! I just hate when that happens! Everyone must laugh at me because they can never tell if I am coming or going.

Well, personally I like Fridays and Saturdays because I don't have to get up early for work the next morning and thus can stay up late.

However it might not attract crowds in the chat room as I assume (and hope) the folks here have a better social life than me and go out on weekends.

So in the end, I'm ok with keeping it on Sundays or whatever day people are on. I'll just try to be a good girl and not stay too late. Much easier said than done. LOL

If you'd like to change it to Friday or Saturday that would be fine. Otherwise another option is to make it earlier in the day. I don't like staying up late. I usually go to bed as soon as the sun goes down... or as late as 9:00 pm CST. So, earlier in the day is fine, also. It is up to you what you want to do.
