I have an idea how about a RPG about Luke getting into a bad car accident ",
when the Dukes snooping around it turns out that somebody messed with the
General Lee so when Luke started to drive him it would go out of control.

I was wondering, if someone doesn't show up for a night to post something, does that make the "episode" have to wait until the next night for the story to continue or do you try to work your way around the absent role player?

Yeah we would have to wait for that person to get back. Unlike a round robin, you take charge of your own character and speak for your own character only. Also, not everyone is going to be involved in every single part. So we might be at the Duke Farm, so Rosco and Boss wouldn't be there until someone posted something like *looks up and hears sirens* "Uh oh, I'll bet that's Rosco." Then that would be a sign for Rosco to come in.

Okay, got it...next question...
If I (or somebody else) posted something that was way out of line and wasn't consistent with the story do you send them a private message with a polite request to edit the post or do the moderators take care of that? The reason I ask is because I've never done this before so if I mess up somehow, don't be shy about telling me.

If that happens, i'd message them first and if it continued then i'd have to ask the moderators to step in and ask the person involved to leave the rp altogether.

lol hey guys, I am going to get started on the rp very soon now that we have all the characters. I'm still trying to come up with an idea at the moment though. Oh and please, can we try and keep this friendly.

I do want to go through what kind of rp style I would like people to write in though. I'm using the same style that I use on my rp site. That is actions go inbetween ** and speech starts with Speech marks. Therefore a post might look like this.

Bo: *whistles as he drove the General down the back roads of Hazzard, tapping a tune on the steering wheel before glancing to Luke*

"Hey Luke, you recon we got enough money to buy some new parts fer the General t'day?"


That is how I want things to be set out so people can understand what is being done and said :)

Hey y'all... while we're waiting for Bo to start the official RP might I suggest a practice session? Reason being is it's BoJames' birthday and I think it'd be fun to rp some birthday wishes while we wait so.....



Luke: *comes in from doing all the chores, a devilish smirk on his face, having pulled a feather from one of the chickens and twirling it in his fingers; he soon makes his way to the bedroom and lifts the blanket on Bo's bed tickling his bare foot with the feather* Wake up birthday boy....

*jerks awake at the sound of Jesse's voice, looking aorund and blinking sleepily*

Luke: *leans out the bedrrom door* " I bet it's that old cat been snoopin' 'round the henhouse again... *not sure if his uncle would buy it or not, but knowing it would at least buy time while he found a place to hide the incriminating feather* Bo get up...

Jesse *squeezes past Luke to get into bedroom and looks lovingly at a blurry eyed Bo* well git up, yur not too old to git a birthday hug from yur old Uncle Jesse are ya?

Luke: *thankful Jesse didn't see the feather and stuffs it in his back pocket and watches while Jesse goes in for a hug knowing full well that Bo wouldn't refuse, smiling a little himself just watching them*

Jesse *smiles and notices Bo smelling* Come on Bo, Daisy's fixed yur eggs jist like ya like 'em. Enjoy 'em this mornin' because I ain't sure if we'll have any tomorrow the way dem chickens is acting up. I'm goin' out there and see if I can figure out what's wrong. *turns around and walks toward the the kitchen table toward the outside door*

*sighs and gets out of bed, grabbing his clothes and heading to the bathroom, stretching as he walked and also cuffing Luke upside the head as he walked past him*

Luke: *sighs in relief that Jesse didn't find the feather before cuffing Bo back* You just wait...seems t me you got some birthday swats comin an' I'm more than happy to volunteer fer the job!

Jesse *outside looking at half the chickens still going crazy and the other half that have settled down scratching the ground eating* (mumbles to self while scratching hatless head) Well at least things are getting back to normal out here. I have a feeling this ain't gonna be a normal day though.

*smirks and turns round, looking to Luke*

Luke: *raises an eyebrow*" I might be shorter, but I'd get the job done, that there's a promise."

Bo said with a chuckle before going to the bathroom, locking the door behind him.

Luke: *frowns, putting away the feather in a safe hiding place for later, taking out a small wrapped gift and hiding it in his pocket before going out tothe kitchen, pouring himself a cup of coffee.*

Jesse *walks back in kitchen* Well, I don't know what happened out there but they seem to be settlin' down a mite *looks at Luke wondering what's on his mind*

Luke: "Prolly nothin...ya know how them things can get.. ." *he added slightly hiding his guilty face in the mug he held*

Jesse *partly closing one eye and looking at Luke suspiciousely* I can tell Luke, you're hiding something. *tilts head back then leans to Luke and whispers* it's Bo's present ain't it?

Luke: *near chokes on his coffee having to cough hard ito his cup his eyes watering as he nodded at the last words* Yes sir *manages*

Jesse *leans back and smiles* (whispering) He's gonna love it Luke. Why Bo's gonna be flyin' so high when he gits that, he'll feel lighter than a feather.

L: *manages only to nod still coughing his eyes watering*

Jesse *whispering* so when ya gonna give it to him? *bathroom door opens*

Luke: "I ain't sure yet..." *he whispered back softly*

*whistles, chirpier now that he was actually awake, dressed as usual in his jeans and yellow shirt, the blue one not underneath this time as it felt too hot outside to wear it, towelling his curly hair dry that had curled more - if that was even possible - now that it was wet. It wouldn't get brushed, it would just dry and then be as it normally was. Tossing the towel into the wash as he walked past, he smiled at Jesse and Luke as he came into the kitchen, grabbing himself a cup of coffee.*

Luke: *leans against the counter watching him* You're sure chipper...think it was your birthday or somethin...

"Why would anyone think a fool thing like that...other than you wakin' me up callin' me birthday boy over and over and over...I blame you for my hyperactivity on days like this when you wake me up like that..."

*replies with a smirk before taking a sip of coffee*

Jesse *takes deep sigh* Well Bo, ya have to have something planned today don't ya? I'm serious now, I really can git along today without ya. I'm not plannin' on doing too much outside today anyway. Elton Loggins said on the radio this mornin' that it's supposed to rain in the afternoon.

Bo frowned a little

"Well the more we can get down this mornin' 'fore it does rain means the less needs to be reparied because of water damage...I really dont got anything planned fer today Uncle Jesse."

*hearing the response and sighs- Bo never did make things easy*

Luke: *hears the response and sighed once more well knowing the response Jesse would give him but understanding at the same time how Bo felt- Luke felt the same way, though he never could voice things as well as Bo could; the way Jesse took them in was something neither of them could ever forget*

Jesse *lovingly* Well Bo if ya wanna give somethin' back like ya say ya do, you can start by making an old man happy.....and the way to do that is go out there and have some good clean fun. Every time you and Luke ride the roads of Hazzard County, I'm there with ya boys. Ya might not see me but I'm there. 'Sides, I relive my youth every time you boys come home with another story of how you shucked and jived old Rosco and Boss.

Luke: *smiles a little sitting on the porch- leave it to Jesse to appeal to Bo that; he gently pushed the porch with his foot setting it swinging*

*nods softly, looking back to Jesse with a small smile before walking over an wrapping his arms around his Uncle's shoulders, giving him a gentle hug before heading out. Instead of talking to Luke however, he walked straight past him and jogged to the barn*

Luke:*frowns watching him go* Wonder what he's up to... *thinks to himself*

*bites his lip, looking around before going to the back of the barn and moving a few floorboards. Reaching in, he pulled out an old wooden but very daintly carved box. Replacing the floorboards, goes to a corner and sits down quietly, opening it and taking out the few pictures that were inside*

L:*quietly makes his way to the barn peaking in to see what Bo was doing*

*Just sits looking at them for a moment, before shaking his head a little and wiping the tears that had formed in his eyes away. He soon replaced the pictures and put the lid back down, replacing the box and heading to the barn doors*

L: *bites his lip before saying* Birthdays ain't always joyous events, are they? *asks softly*

*jumps and looks up, coming face to face with Luke who he hadn't seen as he had been so lost in thought*

L: You're a lot of things Bo, but a liar aint one of them...

"Ok...great....now you wanna go fishin' or not?"

*steps past him, going to the place where their fishing gear was kept*

L: *sighs before nodding getting his gear*

*grabs up his pole and the bait, pulling the General's keys from his pocket and sliding his pole and the box into the back*

L: *grabs his pole too but stays quiet*

*slides into the driver's seat of the General, starting him up*

L: *gets in beside him quietly bothered by Bo's responses and how he wasn't being real with him*

*puts the General into gear as Luke gets in and heads out the farm, pressing the horn as a goodbye to Jesse before speeding off down the dusty back roads, leaning his arm on the window frame and driving one handed as he enjoyed the sunlight that warmed him and the wind that whipped through his blonde hair at the same time. Nothing made him feel more at peace with the world than when he was enjoying himself behind the wheel of a race car*

(Rosco and Enos, feel free to come in and start up a chase at any time.)

L: *sits back too; though normally he enjoyed the ride as much as Bo, today his thoughts were on his cousin, and the pleasure of the ride was diminished greatly*

Enos *looks at the General Lee racing and shakes his head, then he turns on his patrol car's siren and begins to chase his friends*

*looks back as he hears sirens, grinning*

*as usual speeds up and darts off round the corners with skill*

"Since when has that ever stopped them before?" *says lowly*

Bo shook his head, rolling his eyes

"The General Lee roars because he's got a powerful engine Enos. I swear t'ya I wasn't goin' one sngle notch over 50 which is the speed limit."

Quit arguin with him and just lose him Bo...since when are we ever in the right when it comes to the law in Hazzard... he's gonna do whtever Boss says...so LOSE him! We ain't got the money for the mortgage much less bail *knowing all too well how much they didn't have considering what he had to do for Bo's gift which was still in his pocket*

*shrugs again, driving his patrol car away*

*hangs on as Bo goes to make the jump, a bit out of sorts from this morning and now getting chased by Enos*

*braces himself before the landing, jerking a little forwards as they landed, looking back with a grin*

*nods, smiling as he continued to drive. Now thanks to their unplanned jump, they were closer to the fishing spot than before*

*soon pulls up at the fishing spot, sliding out after shutting the General off and getting his fishing things*

*whistles softly as he sets up in a spot that had some sun but was also covered by a little shade*

*sets up some distance away baiting his hook*

*baits his, checking everything else before casting his line and resting back against a tree with a contented sigh*

*does the same, sitting quietly on a fallen log*

*watches the water quietly as he leant against the tree, noting the noises he could hear and just breathing the fresh hair. This was the reason he was happy he didn't live in Altanta or some built up place like that...the fresh air was nice and the noises were peaceful here. There wasn't a better place he could think of that he would rather be spending the years he was on probation for.

*glances over to wear Bo was, having a lot on his mind, not really paying attention to his line*

*doesn't notice, humming to himself quietly with a small smile*

Bo challenged though not harshly, wondering what was wrong when just this morning Luke had been as happy as he was...maybe a little less but no less than usual.

*sighs, shaking his head*

*keeps walking to the Boar's Nest, going in and sitting down at the bar*

*goes back to the General Lee putting away his gear*

Boss: Hey Bo, what's going how come your not fishing at the your favorite hole you look very blue where's the General at."

*sighs getting in the General Lee, starting him up and turning on the radio debating what to do next*

*frowns at the nice tone that Boss appeared to be putting on. He knew what Boss was asking couldn't be out of genuine concern but had to be some sort of part of some scheme...also disturbing was the fact that Boss knew he had been going fishing. Shaking his head, he took his beer with a smile from the bartender and turned to Boss.*

"Boss, I'm not bread so don't try an' butter me up. Why don't ya go back t'yer office an' carry on eatin' or countin' your money. I got better people to spend my time with."

*turns away, walking across the room to where he spied Cooter sitting at the table*

(several minutes later) Jesse *slams brakes on, stopping dirty white pick-up a few feet away from the General Lee with scenic lake in background*

"Well for one I caught him with tears in his eyes in the barn...I ried to talk to him...he denied it...got mad at me...that shouldn't surprise me I guess but...*sighs*we almost got pulled over this morning...for nothin...an just...after everything...everything I did...to make sure this birthday would be good for him...despite...despite everything..."

Bo looked up as Jesse sat down, leaning back in his seat a little as he saw Luke behind him, looking away.

*sighs- his uncle wasn't gonna let him hide, but seeing the way Bo turned from him he just took the box out of his pocket and laid it on the table, not being one to stay where he wasnt wanted*

After seeing Bo look at the present and then turn directly to him, Jesse gave Bo a look that told him that it was time to mend this problem. Jesse didn't have to say a word. Bo knew what was expected of him. He could read every wrinkle and white hair on his Uncle's face. But mostly, he could see through those old eyes into Jesse's soul. What he saw was a mountain of love with a small stream of tears flowing down it because 2 of the 3 people he loved the most were struggling.

Luke, by this time had turned away. knowing if he walked away his uncle would just pull him back, but not wanting to stay.

Bo sighed and looked away from Jesse again, folding his arms. He refused to be forced into anything today.

"Nu uh Uncle Jesse, I ain't apologisin' t'Luke fer runnin' off before he apologises t'me fer doin' nothin' but snap at me since we left the farm."

Luke spun around. "Me apologise?!" He shook his head. "I didn't do a thing to ya!"

Bo stood up as Luke yelled at him, yelling right back.

"All you've done since we left the farm is snap at me for no good reason!"

"I have plenty of reason!" returned Luke. "When the person who used to tell me everything suddenly starts keeping stuff from me, I'd say that's plenty reason to get upset..."

[BoJamesDuke]

"Oh so I suppose i'm not allowed to keep secrets now then am I?! I'm not allowed to have any secrets of my own because Mr Perfect gets all stroppy about it! You have secrets too Luke but do you see me go snapping at everyone because you won't tell me?!"

Bo argued back, not caring now that people were starting to look their way.

"I was tryin' to be a friend is all... oh heck ain't no use talkin to ya...yer gonna do what ya want anyway..."

"A friend would just accept that I have something I would rather keep t'myself an' leave it be until i'm ready t'tell ya! I don't have to tell you everything Luke, its not against the law t'keep secrets that ain't doin' no one no harm!"

*swallows hard his feelings hurt deeper than he was showing* That's the way it is huh?

"That's the way I wish it would be but it ain't with you is it?!"

Bo countered back.

"It means you can't handle the fact that I know things that you dont know about! You like to be in control, knowing everything about everyone all the time. You can't handle that fact that this time your not!"

Bo shook his head and got up from the table, looking to Cooter.

"Thanks for the company Cooter, i'll see you round."

With that, he pushed past Luke and stormed out the Boar's Nest.

*watches him go before turning to his uncle* I... *not knowing what to say he did the only thing he knew to do...grabbing the present off the table, he too walked out*

Jesse *second guessing himself as to whether or not he should have let things go that far* Well, Cooter, I ain't sure what I caught and what I didn't. I ain't sure what started all this. I ain't sure what's in that little box and I ain't sure what to do next *hesitates* Sometimes it's best to just let 'em work things out for themselves....I ain't sure if this is one of those times or not

It took a lot to make Luke angry or upset. Now he was both and deeply hurt. To think he had gone through all that trouble to try and make this a bithday Bo would never forget and all they did is fight.
