Anyone knows this show? I love it.
Constable Benton Fraser of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police begins his new assignment at the Canadian Consulate in Chicago, Illinois, with Diefenbaker, a deaf, lip-reading (  ) wolf. Fraser is not exactly accustomed to city life, contrary to detective Ray Vecchio (for first two series, then Stan Kowalski).
Fraser is very quiet, polite, a gentleman. Ray, on the other hand, is extremely outspoken and sarcastic. Together, however, the two solve several crimes.
The pair Fraser-Vecchio remind me the pair Enos-Turk in the series "Enos".
I like this show 'cause is very funny.
Some quotes:
Ray: "Fraser, what are you doing?"
Fraser: "Well, I... I thought I'd let him shoot me Ray. All Mr. Calling has to do is shoot me, then he can shoot him."
Ray: "Ah, as long as you have a plan."
Ray: "We're lost"
Fraser: "No, we're not. We just don't know where we are"--
Ray: [Fraser and Ray are trapped in a bank vault] "Check for ventilation".
Fraser: "Got it".
Ray: "A vent?"
Fraser: "Yes, and we are in luck, Ray; it is completely sealed off".
Ray: "What?"
Fraser: "Air tight, obviously for security. Rest easy, Ray, the money is perfectly safe"
Ray: "Oh, that's a relief because for a moment there I was concerned all these little Thomas Jeffersons were going to run out of oxygen!
Fraser: Ray, there is no need for either sarcasm or panic. We are in an eight by ten room with a ten foot ceiling. That gives us roughly eight hundred cubic feet of air. It is now 3:15 and the time lock is not due to open until 8 a.m. so there is no danger of us suffocating for at least... You know Ray, in situations like these, the Inuit..."
Ray: "Ohhhh, we're gonna die"
Ray: "Maybe he wanted to kill us too"
Fraser: "Well ,what possible motive could he have for that?"
Ray: "You know, sometimes you are the most annoying man that I know. There's plenty of times I've wanted to kill ya and I'm your best friend"
Stan: "D'you find me attractive?
Benton: In what sense?
Stan: "In the sense of... you know, being a woman"
Benton: "Do I think you're an attractive woman?"
Robert Fraser's ghost (Benton's father): "We have to find somewhere to live"
Benton Fraser: "What do you mean, "we"?"
Robert Fraser's ghost: "That's a cruel joke, son. I've been thinking about an office. I think I need an office".
Benton Fraser: "What the hell would you do with an office?"
Robert Fraser's ghost: "Office work, memoirs, catch up on my taxes. . . "
Benton Fraser: "You've been dead for two years"
Robert Fraser's ghost: "Oh, they find you, son. They find you".
Finally, I love Due South's soundtrack; I've known Sarah McLachlan's music thanks this show.
