I REALLY need help! I'm trying to figure out all the Lyrics to the Dukes CD soundtrack, and there are some things that I just CAN'T get. I'm pretty sure it's the accent that's messin me up, being foreign to me, as a Kiwi...

Anywho...

in 'Laughing all the way to the Bank' there's a chuck that I can't figure out (q-marks are the bit's I don't know):

(Big Boss Hogg
??????????????)
MMMM-Hmmm
(Chases Money like a Love-Sick)
Yeah, that's right.
(He's charmin' as an Army Tank)
Well now, wait a minute!
(But he's laughing all the way to the bank)
Hyeehehehehehahahehahe!
(Boss Hogg
Big Boss Hogg)

Well I don't look like
No Movie Star
There's no doubt
About that
But there's a
Cal-Cu-Latin' Mind
Inside my ?????? hat

I dunno but is the last one there "spencin'", or something of the sort?

Right... then in "Down Home American Girl" there's this part:

I've never been near Amsterdam
I don't have a ??????????????
I don't travel all over the world

And finally, in Duellin' Dukes:

They’re in the fourth lap
And lookie lookie look
At that Fancy Pants go!
I’ll be danged if his car ain’t faster than the ???????????????
He’s up a good half a lap on Cletus in patrol car number two, And he’s got the Dukes by Noon!

(a verse or so)

Trouble! I can’t believe my eyes!
Them Dukes car is spewing out smoke
Like a stack on a Still Mill!
Losing speed too!
Well, now’s the time to get Daisy down here,
As our own ??????? chequered flag waver. C’mon Girl, lets go!

So, can you guys help me? Puh-lease :P

I'll help best I can.

But there's a calculatin' mind inside my stanson hat

Not too sure my dad said it's that.

Down Home American Girl

I don't have a Santa Fe tan.

Duelin' Dukes

I'll be danged if his car ain't faster than the bows at a shotgun wedding.

As our own honorary checkered flag wavwr.

Sorry I can't help ya wit the last one.

Thank you so much! As you can imagine, it's been pretty frustrating not knowing those bits!

And now I can sing along!

Does anyone have or know where to find the lyrics for the first reunion theme 'Carryin' on like we did before'???

Thanks

Dixie, it goes a little something like this:

Carrying on like we did before! Ten in the tank, for on the floor.
V8's screamin we're back for more, carryin on like we did before.
Didn't we raise us a ruckus?
Didn't we kick up our heels?
Sheriff Rosco cussed us;
Said we were hell on wheels!
Didn't we burn up the backroads,
Didn't we have us some fun?
Hey I got a great idea,
(what?)
What do you say we make one more run??
Carryin' on like did before,
Ten in the tank, four on the floor.
V8's screamin we're back for more!
Carryin on like we did before!

:D

Thanks! I'll be posting a story on Fan fiction .com about Duke Fest 2006 and how it came to be -- I'll eventually get around to posting it here I hope also!

Thanks again!

No problem Dixie! LOL the weird thing is that I yanked it out of my head, even though I haven't watched the actual movie in like three years. I've always loved the song, though, so the lyrics have stayed with me!

Thanks for the good memory! I have the song but would have had to replay it a million time to have written it.

I haven't actually seen the reunion movies, but I love the song and know it off by heart to!

Actually... I know almost all the lyrics to all the songs on the Dukes TV Soundtrack, with the exception of those referred to in my first post! But know them now! Mostly. I sing them all the time... :D

I think my favorite song on that whole album is "The General Lee," sung by Johnny Cash. He just injects so much of the car's personality into the tone of the song, and it's the perfect "voice" for our favorite Charger! Even better, my kids, 3 and 5, are starting to like the Dukes now, too!

That's cute that they're actin' like Dukes. The Johnny Cash one is great,(the best voice) but personally I like both Jihn one's.
