Sorrell sure had some great lines!
"Rosco I wish, I just wish that for once you'd use your head for somethin other than a handy place to hang your teeth. "
This is one of my fav lines too. Of course right now I can't think of any of my fav lines from him. He and James Best worked so well off of each other. I loved Sorrell in "Ghost of General Lee" when Rosco tell's him of the "boys passing" .

Rosco: I can do it if I put my mind to it
Boss: Rosco, talk quiet when your talking about your mind...to show respect for the dead
(I may be a little off on that one)

We watched Lawman of the Year and found this great line. Rosco sends Enos out to the car for Flash's doggy num-nums and Enos bumps into Boss on his way out.
Enos: I'm on my out for some doggy num-nums.
Boss: Oh, well I hope you like 'em better than I did when I tried them.
Rosco tried one a few minutes later and said something like, "I wonder what they put in these things?"
Flash seemed to like 'em though.

Jimmy and Sorrell made quite the pair on the Dukes...one that could never be replaced. I enjoyed watching their comments and reactions to one another...they always seem to make me laugh, no matter what kind of mood I am in. The Duke boys will always be my favorite characters along with the other Dukes and Cooter, but I love Boss and Rosco just as much.
Rosco: Oh I'll win Boss
Boss: Rosco, with your reputation right now, if you were the only man running, you'd come in second.
That is the only one I can think of off the top of my head, but he comes up with some great lines!
Keep it between the ditches

Here are some of my favorite Boss Lines from "Cletus Falls in Love"
"Son of a revenuer" (I love that one)
"Save your brains for a rainy day, Rosco"
and
Boss to Rosco "Your about as useless as an umbrella to a duck" Boss stressed the word duck

To Rosco:
"You got splinters in the windmill of your mind!"
Rosco:
"Ooooh, that's poetic!"
And:
Rosco, I got me three medals in two wars, and the only time I get scared is when you get SMUG!"
i dont think this is exactly right but it went something like this: ROSCO!!! WHY DID I MARRY YOUR FAT SISTER!!!!

We don't have enough money in the budget for another paycheck so Cletus is gonna have to split his with you!
Yes there is, I'll give you the whole paycheck and you give'm half
If brains was watermelons you wouldn't have enough seeds to fill a tin
I don't know how you women do it in this shoes!
Rosco, what lack in brains, you make up for in sheer stupidity
I wish those Duke boys were on my side
You have got the IQ of a watermelon and seeds for brains!
What are you scatching your head for condidering there ain't nothing in it?
After all if a man don't grow, he dies
When they were passing out the brains, you must have been behind the door and didn't get any
Rosco, If we ever get out of this alive, I'll kill you!
I don't know how you women do it in these shoes

"Dangblastit!"
When he gets mad/frustrated and says "Allright allright!" really fast.
To Rosco: "Because Jessie makes the only shine you can measure in octanes"--octanes, not octane:lol:
To Rosco: "And don't ask me what kind of fuel fossils run off of!"
To Jesse, Bo, and Luke: "The hot damn royals"

One of my favorite Rosco/Boss exchanges is from "Swamp Molly":
Boss: You get the FBI out of Hazzard County, or I'll divorce your fat sister and send her back to live with you.
Rosco: Boss, you wouldn't do that. Look, Lulu keeps a good home for you.
Boss: I'll hire a housekeeper. She'd eat less, scrub more and sleep downstairs.

I wouldn't describe this as a "favorite" Boss quote but it is interesting. It's from "Cooter's Girl" when Boss was planning on locking up them Duke boys.
"I'll have them picking weeds off the county highways 'til the year 2000."
(This first aired on 12-30-83) That was a scary thought. It reminds me of when they got locked up in Osage County. That sure looked like it was going to be long term....now it's time for a Waylon quote.... "In Hazzard we tend to like happy endings."

After Rosco accidently knocked Boss down a hill, he looked down at Boss at the bottom and asked him if he broke anything important. Boss responded, "No, (looked up and shook fist) but I will in a minute. Just wait 'till I get my hands on you."
Also in that episode when Rosco took a hard tumble he reacted, "I think I broke everything."

This is mean but funny. When Boss was talking about the old days to Lucinda Meadows, he snapped at Cletus and said "You weren't around in the old days.....and I ain't too pleased to have you around in the new days either."

This isn't a Boss quote. It's a Waylon quote about Boss but it seemed better to put it here instead of in the Waylon quotes thread.
It's from "Brotherly Love".
"Now as crooked as old Boss is, he don't cotton to violence. He figures if ya gotta be violent to be crooked, you're trash."
(Early in the series Boss mentioned that he doesn't like violence and he stuck with that policy the whole series. But on the Hazzard Soundtrack part of the lyrics in the song he sang was "Try anything in my neck of the woods and you'll bleed right through the nose.") I think we all agree that it's good that the writers of the show ignored that song.

from "Targets: Daisy and Lulu"
When Boss thought that Lulu had spent a lot of money on a diamond necklace, he said,
"How dare you spend my hardly earned money....I mean hard earned money"
