Darrell

1. Good Ol' Boys - Waylon Jennings - obviously has to be there

2. Take The Highway - Marshall Tucker Band - Great road song...

3. Simple Man - Lynyrd Skynyrd - To me what the Dukes are .

Alright I got a few more.....

1. Dixie - Black Oak Arkansas - Probably my favorite version, half singing half instrumental , all Southern Rock..

2. Gravel Roads - Black Oak Arkansas - Another one by Jim Dandy and gang. Listen to the song, goes good with the topic.

3. Wild Eyed Southern Boys - 38 Special - Title says it all

4. Born To Be Wild - Steppenwolf - The ULTIMATE driving song, although I love The Cult's a bit better....

Come on now , there has to be some others who can name some songs that would befit a Duke......

I liked the way Bo & Luke sang that song in the episode " A Baby For The Dukes" . They sounded great with just them singing and the guitars.

I wish that version was included on the recent re-release of the original Dukes album and not the Willie/Waylon one(althought that is a great song)...

1. Moonshine - great song about 'shine

2. I Need A Thrill/Something Good - great driving song , definately reminds me of the movie driving scenes

I'd have to add "Them Good Ol' Boys Are Bad" by John Schneider, which is featured on The Dukes of Hazzard CD. Plus, just about anything off the movie soundtrack (which was the only good thing about that movie). Plus:

East Bound and Down - Jerry Reed (I know it's from Smokey and the Bandit, but it's a great driving song.)

Gone - Montgomery Gentry (Makes me drive REALLY fast!)

Hicktown - Who's that by, again? I forget.

I'm sure I'll come up with more later!

Great choices - I have a couple on my Ipod (and I'm willing to share if anyone wants to listen to them.) Good driving songs:

1. Pedal to the Metal - Kazzer
2. Black Betty - Skynyrd

Couple More:

1. Redneck Woman - Gretchen Wilson (A definite Daisy song)
2. I Miss Mayberry - Rascal Flatts (very nostalgic type song)

I like some of these choices more'n others, but then again I was always partial to country. LOL.

A few other suggestions that I don't think were mentioned yet -

"Free 'N Easy" - Dierks Bentley (I agree; he's very Dukes-ish - actually I remember reading somewhere where he mentioned being a fan and having Hazzard as an inspiration for a lot of his music! Is that cool or what?)

"Southern Nights" - Glen Campbell (just a good ol' southern easygoing song that reminds me of Hazzard on a not-so-hectic evening)

"Back Where I Come From" - Kenny Chesney

"Red Dirt Road" - Brooks and Dunn

"Standin' Still" - Clark Family Experience ("Gonna run barefoot through it, jumpin' over trouble like there ain't nothin' to it, makin' my way even when it's all uphill... ya ain't never gonna catch me standin' still" - enough said!)

And on a more "sappy" mood, "Faith In You" - Steve Wariner (seems to fit the family pretty well IMO)

Chet Duke

I got two song for ya'll also. (I swear Im not fallowin ya around the boards Luke, just a coincidence.)

Ok, first song, Im not sure if its been mentioned or not. "Where the Black Top Ends" By: Keith Urban. That ones pretty self explanitory, we all have left and returned to Hazzard atleast once in our life.

And the second song, Im almost postive aint been mentioned. I really aint sure why this one stands out as a song that reminds me of the Dukes. Maybe because the idea of the hat makes the country boy alittle different yet just as tough as anyone else, and just as equal. The Dukes were always country folk, and probably acused of it a time or two, just like this guy in the song is acused for his cowboy hat. The song is called "This Cowboys Hat" By: Chris Ledoux, hats off to you Chris, rest easy ol' cowboy.

I know I'm late on this... but I have one.

I love country music yes, but I'm also a closet metal head, and I love Metallica.

The song Fuel by Metallica, is my suggestion.

*hums a few bars* Fuel is pumping engines... Burning hard... Loose and clean...

Oooh...And then I burn...Turning my direction...Quench my thirst with gasoline...

That's just a teaser but frankly the lyrics say it all.
