Just curious... What cast members will be at Duke Fest this year? I know Ben Jones and James Best will be there, but who else? There's something on this board that says Sonny won't be there. Any other info on who will be there?

The cast members who will be there this year will be
John Schneider, Catherine Bach, Ben Jones, James Best, and Rick Hurst.

I heard that Sonny Shroyer can't make it because his son's getting married or something like that. And as for Tom Wopat, I imagine he will NEVER attend a Dukesfest because he is determined to cut all ties with the Dukes and continue expanding his career on Broadway.

Tom Wopat does PLENTY of stuff for DOH! He IS on Season 3 dvd and apparently Season 4. He has a job to do on the other side of the country to where Warner Bros and the most of the other cast members live. **** happens! He is NOT trying to cut ties with DOH!!!!! :)

Whoa! Take it easy! I didn't mean that in a negative way. I go by what I've heard. A friend of mine went and saw him on Broadway and got to meet him backstage. She observed the people ahead of him and according to what she told me, Tom loved chatting if it was about Broadway or anything else, but if DOH was mentioned, he was less than thrilled, so when she met him, she didn't mention the DOH to him and he enjoyed talking to her.
I like Tom Wopat and Luke Duke was the character I used to portray as a kid while all the other guys wanted to be Bo. I guess I just want to be prepared to say the right thing to Tom and not the wrong if I ever meet him again.
I just bought season three and I watched the extra features.

I think they're all trying to get over this year's Fest right now! They usually advertise with plenty of time for you to think about it, so just keep an ear out :)

I really wanna go next year i've never been to Duke Fest before and i really hope i can go!!! i hope that every cast member can make it there and maybe Tom will change his mind if he doesn't wanna go. i hope he ends up going along with everyone else i've always wanted to meet Catherine, John, Jimmie, Tom, Sonny, Ben, and Rick!!!! i just wanna meet everyone and get lots of autographs and of course souviners!!!! i can't wait!! :D :D :D :D

I recently met Tom Wopat when he was doing GGR, I asked him what character he ever had the most fun playing and he said Luke Duke :D So that is not even true about him!

I'd love to meet John, but I don't think I'd say the right thing or look right without stiffly walking into my room afterward and swearing continuously again and again into my pillow. Either that or I'd make a complete idiot out of myself.

I met a favorite author of mine once and (big suprise) I made a "dip-stick" of myself. And she was a semi-popular author. Imagine what I'd do in front of someone like any of the DOH cast memebers :cry:

Oh belive me I spent hours in front of a mirror and when I finally got up to him he said "whos this pretty little thing" and I got so excited I forgot my name so I just smiled with this blank look on my face lol I felt like a dip-stick. Whenever I think about meeting ANY of the cast, I get breathless and lightheaded. I can just imagine how I'll react when/if I ever meet any of them. I can see me doing three things: fainting, being speechless, or crying. With all my luck, I'll do all three. More than likely, it'll be crying. I wonder, are the actors used to semi-hysterical fans?

Latest rumor I heard now this is strictly RUMOR.They are trying to get all the surviving castmembers to appear this year including Tom Wopat as this Dukesfest is allegedly the last one. Tom and Chris Mayer are the only 2 main characters I haven't met and need their autograph on my General Lee. If you get to meet any celebrity try and remain calm and be casual most celebs are very nice.I've met alot of them and all but one or 2 have been very friendly. Jimmy Best can be a bit grumpy and he charges for a autograph on everything.

Jimmy Best can be a bit grumpy and he charges for a autograph on everything.

Every cast member/celebrity I know of, charges for their signature. It's not fair to single Jimmy out on that. I've always had postive experiences in the four times I met Mr. Best and his lovely wife.

Yes most celebs charge for one autograph but most will sign anything else you brought with you free as long as you purchased one thing from that celebrity.I understand people get greedy though and bring tons of stuff to get signed and some end up selling that stuff on ebay to make themselves money. Which is one reason why Jimmy charges for everything to keep people from doing that. It's understandable.I spent an entire day with Jimmy at a car show as he was using my General Lee as a backdrop. My friend was also there with his Rosco police car replica he built as a dedication to Jimmy and his character and Jimmy charged him to sign his car which I didn't feel was right. I was just giving a heads up to anyone getting to meet him to expect to pay for every autograph. No disrespect to Jimmy.I understand why he charges but I felt he shouldn't have charged my friend for a car he built in dedication to his favorite TV character.

This happened at the Canton,Ohio Rod and Custom Auto Show January of 2003. The promoter of the show was a friend of mine and knew I had a General and he asked me to appear with my car along with my buddys Police car because Jimmy was going to be there.
