In the episode "The Legacy," from seasons 3, Roscoe is absent, where was he? Was it another labour dispute or...?

Not sure what reason James Best had for being absent. I watched this episode last night and it was funny seeing Cletus as the Sheriff and Wilbur Fudge as the deputy. The patrol car is sliced in half going through the Hazzard sawmill.

ok never mind i was about to say he was out becasue of the dressing rooms again but if that was season 3 i have no idel sorry :(
