Tom's Singing voice

I really love Tom's singing voice. Ever since I got those two CDs, I haven't been able to stop listening to them. Its like silk. Its very relaxing which I need when I am having an anxiety attack. Keep up the good work Tom, you're amazing!!!!

So what genre of music is it? I'm in Australia and therefore haven't heard his stuff. Is it classical, musical or others? Is there uptempo songs on it or is it mostly slow stuff? I'd be interested to hear your response. I can get the cd if I want to but it's very expensive out here, so I would like to find out some more first. :evil:

Actually, I haven't been able to find Tom's CD's in my area, but they are available on http://www.amazon.ca/

The prices are listed in Canadian dollars, since I live in Canada, this is a plus because I don't have to pay the difference in U.S. dollars. I can get them anytime.

The CD's are titled 'In the Still of the Night' and 'Dissertation on the State of Bliss-A Tribute to Harold Arlen'.

I also have The still of the night,and that is my frav song too(If these walls could speek). I also have his new cd Dissertation on the state of bliss. and I love it. I got it when he came to Maine .

I actually recognised some of the songs, which made it good! My favourite at the moment is "If These Walls Could Speak", followed by "The Moon's A Harsh Mistress". I'm glad I got the cd! :D

How old is his cd "Dissertation"? Is it a 2005 cd or older? I can't find that in Australia yet :(

Tom'S New cd Dissertation On the state of bliss came out feb 22 of this year but i got it before it came out cause I bought it when Tom was in Maine on Feb 8TH.

If "Still Of The Night" is anything to go by, I'll be buying the next cd! So did you get to meet Tom when you bought the cd? What's he like? :evil:

That song is not called "In the Still of the Night." Its a whole different song. Tom's is called "The Still of the Night". Didn't want you to get the two confused.

Ya I got to meet Tom he's a sweetheart I had my picture taken with him. and he singed my cd and a picture. and my husband got to met him and i asked him does he understand why i l ike him and my husband said ya he's a nice guy. Tom Shook my husbands hand and said thanks for coming to the show.

Tom

His smile is like a burst of sunshine
brightening my day on a rainy afternoon.
His eyes are bluer than the purest lake.
They put me in a dreamy mood.

His laugh is enough to send me into 7th heaven-
its deep and hearty filling
my stomach with butterflies
His hair is wavy and soft looking

Ya John Says it as Bo Duke on the eposide one arm Bandit. When he dropped the money off to Jill and he gave a kid some money to get a soda. and then the kid got in the General Lee and Bo Asked the Kid What are you doing?and the kid says squirting flies. Then Bo looked at Jill and said I hate Kids.

After listening to both his newer stuff and his older stuff I'd have to say I prefer the older more country sounding stuff to his newer swing/jazzy sound. I really love his songs "Too Many Honky Tonks" and "A Little Bit Closer" and I still love his rendition of "Up On Cripple Creek" off the Dukes Soundtrack. Not that his newer stuff isn't good... I just prefer the country sound but that's just my prefrence.

Yeah, Tom's music isn't what most younger people listen too. But personally (since I'm Broadway-cazed) I love it, my favorite song so far (besides Up On Cripple Creek) is Anything You Can Do.. from Annie Go Get Your Gun. I think his octaves are just outsatnding, I mean I can't get that high in a double treble clef. (Sorry for all the wack-o terms.) But anyways, yes I think he has an AMAZING voice!! :D
