View Full Version : What TV shows do ya'll watch now?

Just curious to see what kind of shows everyone on here watches. I did this with the typ of music ya'll listen and now it's TV time...
My current favorite show and has been for the past few years is 24. That show just leaves me speechless at the twists ands turns all the time. Another show I love is a British spy show shown on A&E called M.I.-5 . Similar to 24 but not set in a 24 hour period.
Not really much of the current sit-coms I watch. I loved Doc with Billy Ray Cyrus , but that recently ended. I am sure I will think of others.
1. 24
2. MI-5
3. CSI - the original
4. Lost
5. Alias

We don't watch very much, but we do like The Amazing Race! Amanda is a world traveler and can sympathize with getting through an airport in a hurry. Jam likes Survivor, but Amanda only liked it when it was set in Thailand, as she spent a summer there. Another favorite would be Whose Line is it Anyway?, one of two hit shows in which the title is a rhetorical question.

Forgot about Survivor ....That is our TV family night sort of. My youngest daughter LOVES this show and breaks down when who she wants to win gets voted out. My wife and I yell at the TV about what stupidity they must think of when they vote out the WRONG person. I know it is obvious to us at home about what they do, but sometimes they don't have a brain...

One time we were trying to figure out what would happen if characters from Dukes were on Survivor or other reality shows. We think Enos would win since he'd make no alliances nor any promises and he wouldn't lie or back-stab anybody. Boss Hogg would be voted out first. And of course, Daisy'd be wearing a bikini. Cooter wouldn't mind being out in the wilderness since apparantly he doesn't bathe much anyway. Any other opinions?

Jamanda! Well, looks like I have a fellow Enos fan among my myst! Possumonagumbush! Time to form a Strate Committee, Woohoo! My numbers for Enos fanatics doubled, from one to now two! Crickets and Crocs!
I'll kind of agree with you if the reality show was 'Survivor'. However I really think Luke Duke might have a better shot. Not That I don't think Enos could do it. My opinion is that some how Bo and Luke would team up in some kind of shuck n' jive and get him voted off. Some how I see coconuts in this little gag but hey who knows. Plus, with Luke's Marines training, eeek.
Now if the game was played like "The Apprentice", forget it. Poor Enos can kiss his grits goodbye. He's not aggressive enough. Hardworking, obidient, and honest... yes, aggressive go getter, no. I see either Huggie Hogg winning that or one of the Dukes. Huggie because he knows business deals and back stabbing but can put on a good act.

LOL, Val you sound like Florence Jean Castleberry with "kiss his grits" remark. =) Alice was a fun show that would still be at the top of viewing list if some newtork would kindly put it back on the air. Or least release a DVD. There really isn't alot of new shows I like. I'm grateful that TBS still airs Mama's Family, WGN has Rockford Files.

You are lucky about seeing the Rockford Files, that is one of my all time favorite shows. And so is Mama's Family. My wife an I had tickets last year to Vicki Lawrence doing her "An Evening Of Mama" stuff but she ended up cancelling her tour. I would have loved to see that...

There aren't many "current" shows that I enjoy. I watch a lot of reruns (Bonanza, MASH, Streets of San Francisco, etc). I did watch JAG until it ended recently. I also watch as much horse racing as I can. I have two racing channels on my cable system, so I watch a fair amount of racing on the weekends.

the main show I watch is the Dukes Of Hazzard!! I also like Smallville and I sometimes watch Roswell when it's on sci-fi!! I watch Full House and Family Matters too but mainly the Dukes!!
HotHillbilly
09-25-2005, 03:21 PM
Well I'd pick Dukes over any of the other ones but others I like to watch are LOST, Desperate Houswvies, Smallville, and Wildfire. But I mainly watch Dukes!!
DixieRose_00
09-25-2005, 05:00 PM
Yeah I forgot Wildfire!! I like that show too!! Mainly because of the horses!! But my main show is the Dukes!! I watch the Dukes more then any other show!!!
HotHillbilly
09-25-2005, 05:45 PM
Yeah I liked Wildfire I just hate the corney riding (you can tell when it's not her riding) and Wildfire is like 6 different horses that arn't even the same. Like in one episode in the starting gate he had a star. During the race he had nothing. Then in the after race he had a snip and no star... you'd think they try to get at least the facial markings right on the poor horse!! lol. But it's sorta a SOAP with horses!! tehe
DixieRose_00
09-25-2005, 07:39 PM
[color=blue]you're right!!! I don't know why they used so many different horses unless it was because they were having problems with some of them!!
HotHillbilly
09-25-2005, 11:02 PM
Yeah, well normally in a horse show they do have many different horses (in SeaBiscut for example) they had I think 6 horses. 1 agressive one, 1 that was the calm one, 1 that actually raced, 1 for the sick scenes etc... But they did such a good job with getting horses w/ the same faical markings and stockings etc. Its just a lil more obvious in Wildfire.tehe. Can't wait for next season to start (dramma!! lol)
DixieRose_00
09-26-2005, 02:21 PM
Maybe in the next season they'll get horses with the same markings so it's not so obvious that it's not the same horse....They probably just don't know horses like we do....maybe they oughta hire us!!!
HotHillbilly
09-26-2005, 11:22 PM

HotHillbilly

lucky. I'm still a bit to tall to be a jockey..of normal height that is. lol. I excersize Qh's actually. But I'd love to work with Thoroughbreds, 2nd favorite breed rigth there (Qh's being my first. tehe). I'd love to work on Wildfire *cough cough* any Wildfire-reps out there lol. I wish.

First of all: The Dukes of Hazzard will always be my favorite TV show. I can't see any other show replacing that on my list of favorites.
I really don't have a lot of time to watch TV, but here is a list of my other favorites other than the Dukes:
"Dog Whisperer" which is how I spend my Friday nights...watching Cesar Millan working and handling with troubled dogs.
and of course...
NASCAR...is what I watch most every Sunday (when I have the chance)
and any Chicago Cubs game...season starts in four more days! :)

Hey Emy-Rae Duke!
Thank you... you just reminded me of another show that I like. Walker, Texas Ranger. I really like that show, the only annoying thing is that the guy can be blind, disabled, and half dead and then still go on to beat up six people, all by him self! How can one do that?!

I use to watch "Walker, Texas Ranger" every Saturday night at nine - it was a show we hardly missed, if did, we taped and watched it later. :) Walker and Trivette were my favorite on the show - along with the bartender, can't think of his name at the moment, think it's Ace, but could be wrong.
But we also felt the same way about how they'd continue to beat the bad guys over and over before they fell down and were able to be arrested. Cordell and James had some tough competition there to get hit as hard and as continous as they had to in order to get stopped! Anyway - it was a great show and was sad when it had ended.

One of my all time favorite shows. I loved the "Sons Of Thunder" characters - Trent Malloy and Carlos Sandoval. Glad they had there own series , even for a short time. Loved Trent's convertible Vette.
I like Sydney and Gage. They worked so well together.
I didn't like the last TV movie. Trivette had only a cameo and Sydney wasn't evern in it. I am hoping they make at least one more to wrap up everything.

I hear ya, Garrett Duke! I also taped a few episodes if I couldn't watch it! Did they make a Walker movie?! If they did, I never knew about it. News travels slow here, I guess! Does anyone know how many seasons it lasted? I think it is four, but I am not sure.
I really like the chemistry between Walker and Trivette, and how they play off of each other. But, I'd have to say that Trivette is my favorite on there. I sometimes feel like him, tryin' hard, but fallin' short, but havin' fun doin' so!

They made one movie. It was called Walker Texas Ranger:Trial By Fire. I never saw it by I know they did a cliffhanger at the end because they were planning on more episodes.
Walker is one of my favorite shows and besides Walker, Trent Malloy and Gage were my favorite characters. I loved the chemistry there was between Sydney and Gage in the last two seasons.

Yes they made one. It was done in 2005. Not as good as the series though. The main characters were basically Walker, Alex and Gage. You only see Trivette briefly and Sydney isn't in the movie at all.
Nice pictures of Trent and Carlos. For Trent and Carlos lovers Season Four with the episode "Sons Of Thunder" will be released Febuary 19, 2008.

Hey y'all!
Movies based on a series are almost never as good as the actual series. Must be because there are no ideas left and the producers just don't do their homework about the series. They always seem to pick up on the wrong things.
Changing gears here, but has anyone seen the latest Dukes movie? I saw it at the store the other day, and judging by the pictures and plot, I don't think I will like it. Anyone seen it, and what did you think?

General Grant, if you're asking about "The Beginning", you won't like it. From your past posts, I can tell that you wouldn't enjoy it at all. It's not really Dukes. It's not even close. I've never seen American Pie but I know enough about it to tell that it compares to these "new Dukes" (I cringe every time I say "Dukes" when talking about them because they don't deserve that name.)
