View Full Version : Where was Rosco in season 2?

While whatching the season 2 DVD I noticed that Rosco is replaced in a few of the episodes. I was just wondering the real reason why James Best was not in those episodes. Anyone know?

James Best held out for better dressing room because of all the scenes where he was getting drenched jumping the car into a pond.

I believe he also wanted the dressing trailers to be safer.

Yeah I think your right, I knew it was something with dressing rooms.

So thats what it was!! Then where was cooter when all those cousins of his replaced him?

They were holdin' towels around him while they hosed him off after the Hazzard Pond scenes.... so he wanted a good trailer with a dressing room. Apparently, the trailers they did have were so decrepit that they'd fall apart if "the termites stopped holding hands". (Jimmie's words. LOL.)

That, and then they got a trailer, which IIRC, they kept for a brief time, and then took away again and Best went off, ostensibly for good, and he said something to the effect of that the was "leaving and going back to the Florida swamps and there's no one in California with the intestinal fortitude to come get me" and so they finally got something decent I believe, and so Best came back.

there was Clifton James, Dick Sargent(if James Best would left the show for good he would made a good Replacement) and James Hampton.

You forgot about Jeff Altman, he played Hughie Hogg, temporary sheriff in 'Arrest Jesse Duke'. They were all good replacements but with different personalities. Buster Moon liked all the pretty piggies.

on those episodes they say Rosco is in a " refresher course" in Alanta GA

Rosco probably could have use a refresher cousre in the law! LOL. And someone asked where Cooter was. Well they wanted him shave his face and he wouldn't so he was gone for a spell.

I liked sheriff Grady Berg the Best! But Rosco tops em all!

yeah, I see Hughie hogg did for acting sheriff but i see this funny one when he tried sit down near car but he fell it.. and also tried get in sheriff or deputy he miss it lol :lol: weird for hughie unfix sheriff.. but sheriff grady berg did acting not bad at all better than hughie did... :)

i missed rosco in season 2 it wasn't the same without him :( but then i was really happy when he came back!!! :D :D :D i luved it i luved it!!!!

It just wasn't the same without Rosco in Season two!!! If he'd left for good I woulda missed his funny laughs!!!

I thought it was 'Grady Bird'. maybe im wrong.
